How nice it is to relax in the summer in the country! Fresh air, coolness, birds sing, complete freedom of action. My family and I are looking forward to the weekend to spend in the country. Today's article I devoted to country issues. One of them: the lack of central gas supply.

What is better to use in the country: an electric stove or gas in a cylinder? What is more profitable and easier?

We use a gas bottle. But sometimes it is inconvenient. So I thought, why not buy an electric stove for the dacha? About which option I still stopped, I’ll tell you further.

What are good gas cylinders and what is bad about them

Since we have been using gas cylinders for a long time, I decided to start with them. Of the minuses, one can single out: the large weight of the cylinders, it is difficult and uncomfortable to wear them. The weight of an empty cylinder is not less than 20 kg. Full weighs about 40 kg. Can you easily drag him to the country house? I can hardly do it.

In addition, gas stoves have low efficiency. When cooking on such a stove, you do not use all the gas for its intended purpose. Only 60% of the gas goes to cooking. The remaining 40% is spent on heating the house. I pay about 1000 rubles for one filling of the cylinder. It turns out that 1 kWh costs 5 rubles. In our village, the cost of electricity is more favorable.

Pros and cons of electric stoves

We turn to electric stoves. I have found the following advantages:

  • 1. High level of security. In the event of a power outage, the stove will simply turn off. In this regard, gas stoves lose out, because if a leak occurs, the house can fly into the air.
  • 2. A working electric stove does not harm human health in any way, no harmful substances are emitted from it. What happens when the gas burns? Substances harmful to health are emitted into the atmosphere.
  • 3. Electric stoves are multifunctional, it is quite convenient to cook on them.
  • 4. The funds invested in the purchase of an electric stove pay off in a few months.

What I have identified the disadvantages of electric stoves:

  • 1. Country electrical wiring may not withstand the load from the stove. Also in the villages there is often a lack of power. Due to power outages, the stove will quickly fail.
  • 2. Cooking on an electric stove, although convenient, but takes a long time. Its efficiency is 50%. According to this criterion, electric and gas stoves are almost equal.

So, on reflection, I still bought an electric stove for the dacha. No complaints so far, solid benefits. At least I don't have to constantly refill the tank. And I put up with power outages, so they don’t cause me problems.
