If you are just starting your journey into welding, then you probably do not have enough knowledge. You need to understand which inverter to use, which welding mask is better and more reliable, as well as which electrodes are the most suitable. Please note that you need to buy all this, and therefore the issue should be studied more thoroughly.

" You definitely need blue electrodes, don't take others!" - taught by an experienced welder. And what electrodes do we really need?

I propose to talk about welding electrodes. The choice of these consumables in stores is so huge that a beginner can easily get confused. Today I will tell you how not to make mistakes in marking and buy suitable electrodes. I hope my article is useful to you!

" You definitely need blue electrodes, don't take others!" - taught by an experienced welder. And what electrodes do we really need?

For clarity, we will consider a situation where we need to weld several thin-walled elements (maximum 3 mm thick). As a rule, these are profile pipes. Of these, in the village, in the country, and at home, many things and devices are cooked.

In this case, you will have to use the spot welding method. It turns out that the electrodes after interrupting welding should easily ignite again.

In what other situations can welding be needed in everyday life? For example, some parts have burst or bounced off, and they need to be welded back. In this case, you will need electrodes to work with rusty, oily, dirty surfaces.

Naturally, the surface is better to clean. But, let's face it, some people don't because they don't have the opportunity or they're just plain lazy.

If you plan to use welding for the cases described above, then stock up rutile electrodes.

Most likely in the store you will find the following brands of such electrodes: ANO-21, OK 46.00 and MP-3.

They will certainly come in handy on the farm and will satisfy basic welding needs.

If we are talking about the use of a welding machine for other purposes, then other electrodes will be required. Let's take a look at more important and serious cases.

It is possible that someday you will need to weld structures that experience heavy loads. For example, machine parts. Remember the walk-behind tractor: various parts often break down, nodes fail because they are constantly in motion and under load.

If you have a dacha, for sure you have more than once encountered a breakdown of all sorts of mechanisms. In such cases, a welding machine will be very useful. The main thing is to choose the right electrodes. For important work, electrodes with main cover. They leave plastic seams that can withstand heavy loads. Rutile electrodes will not cope with this task.

Best brands - LB-52U, MTG, UONI 13/55. The latter are the cheapest and of fairly high quality. Therefore, I recommend to stop the choice on them. The seams from such electrodes are so strong that they are unlikely to be spoiled.

But working with these electrodes is not easy, you need to adapt. First, you should take care of the cleanliness of the surfaces to be welded. Secondly, it is necessary to weld on a short arc so that the electrode does not go out during operation. The seam should be continuous. It is unlikely that you will be able to cook with dots, since it is problematic to constantly light the electrode.

If you have only worked with rutile electrodes in the past, be prepared to get used to basic coated electrodes. But this will significantly improve your skill, you will reach a fundamentally new level of welding.
