The Alfawise brand, familiar to our readers, which produces set-top boxes and microcomputers, has released a new device. The Alfawise S95 box has a unique combination of power and cost: its functions have never been seen before only in expensive Xiaomi “boxes” and specific compact devices based on Intel processors Atom.

The heart of the new product is the Amlogic S905W platform based on 4 ARM Cortex-A53 cores with a maximum operating frequency of 1.5 GHz and a 5-core Mali-450MP graphics processor of 750 MHz each. The graphics chip allows you to decode video streams up to 4K with 30 frames per second (fps). Supported containers include H.264, H.265, RealVideo8/9/10.
The performance of the new product is supported by 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. The memory chip is manufactured by Foresee and has increased reliability and speed. In addition, USB interfaces allow you to connect to Alfawise S95 external hard drive up to 4 TB with or without additional power. Likewise, there is a slot for microSD cards up to 128 GB.
Communication capabilities Alfawise S95 include full HDMI 2.0 input and output with pass-through support, as well as analog AV (composite) audio and video output. Using HDMI, audio output up to 5.1 is provided. Network interfaces include 10/100M Ethernet and Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n). The communications isolation is grounded and protected from interference.
The Alfawise S95 shell is Android 7.1. Built-in codecs provide playback:
