Victory Day is a special day not only for Russia. The victory in the Great Patriotic War ended the Second World War.
May 8, 1945 at 22 hours 43 minutes Central European time (May 9 at 0 hours 43 minutes Moscow time) Field Marshal Wilhelm Keitel signed the Act of Unconditional Surrender of Germany, which came into force on May 9 from 1:00 p.m. Moscow time.
