In 1960-70 in the Soviet Union was an active development of the city panel houses. Not spared this fate and the Warsaw Pact countries. Most of all, this practice has touched the GDR. But time passes, and buildings in need of repair. The Germans did not demolish the old "socket", and launched a renovation program.
If we talk about purely cosmetic repairs, the Germans repainted facades of prefabricated houses, getting rid of the depressive gray color. Before the houses were built of brick fences, which have become a kind of buffer zone separating the entrances from the road.
Some homes are attached balconies or increased existing loggia. Here and there you can see the exterior elevators.
Each house has its own area for trash cans. As a rule, it is closed to the castle, so that nobody else was rummaging in them or not does not throw garbage in your tank.
As for the more radical changes, some mnogopodezdnye five-story building was reduced to 3 floors and dismantled segment in the middle, making it one of the two buildings. And, of course, facades repainted gray in color more optimistic.
