Smart home systems is now on the market a lot, but usually it is not cheap pleasure. The vast majority of these systems has a central unit, worth about $ 100, and even a minimum set of "pull" to a considerable sum.
Itead company took a different path, creating a smart home components Sonoff, operating without central block, the minimum workable "kit" from one relay controlled from a smartphone worth less than $ 5.
The various components allow Sonoff:
- enable and disable the relays, sockets, light fixtures from your smartphone;
- control the load on schedule and timers;
- use the voice control through Google Home and Amazon Alexa;
- drive the load via touch switches;
- display on a smartphone power consumed by the load (Sonoff Pow);
- to measure the temperature and humidity display them on a smartphone, to drive the load, depending on the temperature and humidity in the thermostat mode (Sonoff TH10 / TH16);
- manage smartphone cheap wireless relays, lamps, sockets for 433 Mhz (Sonoff RF Bridge 433
- create a simple alarm system with wireless sensors 433 MHZ;
- used to control the wireless remotes and switches 433 Mhz.
The components communicate with your smartphone via the Internet using the cloud service producer. Most Sonoff components used for this WIFI. Relay Sonoff G1 It has a slot for sim-cards and uses the mobile Internet.
Sonoff components are based on standard microprocessor module ESP8266, allowing them there are alternative firmware, some of which allow you to organize the work of the components without clouds and without Internet.
I will begin the story about how it works with the most simple and "friendly" component - the smart socket S20 Smart SocketWhich costs $ 12.86 and allows to control the load current up to 10A (2300 W).
At the outlet there is a button on and off load and two LEDs - blue on the left is lit when the load is turned on, the green on the right indicates the status of WIFI-connection. When first turned on, it flashes.
Sonoff all devices managed by eWeLink application. After installing it, you must create an account.
To bind a socket, you must run the application and click the + button to add the device. In the second step, the application asks the name and password of your WIFI-network to which you want to connect the socket. The name and password can be saved to when connecting other devices they would not need to be reentered.
After holding for 7 seconds, the buttons on the outlet of its green LED starts to flash rapidly and starts binding process.
The app shows the temporary name of the device and offers to rename it.
Rosette appears in the device list and a few seconds later, when the green LED lights up constantly in the outlet, becomes active. You can click on the round switch on the screen of your smartphone to turn on and off the outlet. If the socket to enable or disable the button on the outlet itself, its status in the application will change too.
By clicking on the device in the application, you can go to the control screen. Here you can enter the setup mode, where you can change the device name, turn the PUSH-notification and set in what will be able to plug for inclusion in the network, and assign the schedule timers, allow to control the device with another smartphone.
You can schedule and timers that work in the device (in this case a wall outlet). This means that if the smartphone on which set the timer or schedule, will disappear from the network itself or disappear WIFI-network, a timer or on / off schedule all work the same.
Control socket, you can not only from your smartphone. You can use switches Sonoff Touch, Sonoff T1As well as almost any wireless remotes and switches 433 Mhz through Sonoff RF Bridge 433.
Uses of such outlet, a lot: remote switching on heaters / air conditioners, when you're just drive up to the house, the inclusion of household appliances (including a schedule), lighting control "without getting the couch. "
