Electric kettle - one of the most powerful household electrical appliances, and many think that it consumes a lot of electricity. I found out how much it costs to boil one liter of water.
Full-size teapots are 1800-3000 watts. The higher the power, the faster the water boils, but the most powerful kettles can only be used where there is a power outlet and wiring, allowing a greater load. In general we can say that if the house gas cooker, it is better to buy tea to 2400 W when electric can and 3000 watts.
To find out how much is consumed tea, I took advantage of accurate power meter Robiton PM-2 (ammo1.livejournal.com/827660.html).
My kettle Braun has a stated capacity of 3000 watts, and the actual power consumption is 2600-2700 watts.
During the experiment voltage is varied from 228 to 231 V.
Liter kettle boiled water for 2 minutes 20 seconds. It took only 0.1 kWh of electricity.
The same figure is obtained when calculating the power (2.65 kw / 60 minutes minutes X 2.3 = 0.102 kWh).
When electricity cost 5 rubles per kilowatt-hour, it turns out that the cost of one liter of boiling water is 50 cents.
If every day to drink the tea three times, get 45 rubles per month or 540 rubles a year. A lot or a little is worth. :)
