Thermal imager - a device that allows you to "see" the temperature of various objects, displaying a color image in which different colors correspond to different temperatures.
The imager will detect and eliminate heat leaks or cold see site or local heating equipment overheating, noted problems with the wiring, to find prey in the hunt - in the dark or in bush.
Thermal imagers are very expensive. For example, Testo 875-1 with a matrix of 160x120 pixels, which I used for measuring the temperature of LED lamps, worth 139,000 rubles.
Recently went on sale imagers Seek Thermal, connected to the smartphone. Their matrix has a resolution of 206x156 dots. Due to the fact that the whole processing and visualization is engaged in the smart phone, the price of the thermal imager is much smaller.
Dadzhet company offered me to test two models of thermal - Seek Thermal and Seek Thermal XR.
The models differ only in the lens. At Seek Thermal viewing angle of 36 ° and the lens has a fixed focus, at Seek Thermal XR viewing angle of 20 ° and the focus ring on the lens is adjustable. Each of the models, there are two versions - with a MicroUSB connector for smartphones based on Android and a Lightning connector for the iPhone.

Seek Thermal can only work with the smartphones on Android, which support USB-OTG. Support can be checked by connecting a USB flash drive to the smartphone with MicroUSB connector or a normal USB flash drive, mouse or keyboard through a MicroUSB adapter - USB OTG.
To operate the thermal imager, you must install Seek Thermal app from Google Play or App Store.
The application is designed that the imager connected to the connector on the smartphone's lower end (the widest part of the connector MicroUSB intended to face the rear of the smart phone). If the connector is located in a different place, or flipped, it is necessary to use a MicroUSB extender, which can also be purchased at Dadzhet. However, to use a thermal imager with extension cable be convenient even when the connector "in the right place ": it is possible to manage with one hand the smartphone and the other to guide the lens imager wherever necessary.

The app has four modes of operation:
"Normal" - the picture without temperature;
"Zone" - display the temperature in the center;
"High / Low" - displaying the maximum and minimum temperature;
"Threshold" - everything below this threshold are grayed out.
There are nine choices of color imaging temperature.

The program saves photos and videos as they are visible on the screen. If the temperature indication has been included, it will be in the saved file. To analyze the temperature at separate points after shooting impossible.
