Yesterday I brought a huge parcel. I will not tell you how we will courier dragged the 60-kilogram box of the car.

The box is what I dreamed of for a long time.

Open ...

St. Petersburg company INTECH Engineering It gave me for Lamptest project half-meter integrating sphere (aka "integrating sphere").

The ball opens, inside its walls are covered with highly reflective matte white paint on the basis of barium sulfate.

Scope allows "collect" all the light that gives light, and accurately measure luminous flux - the amount of light emitted by the lamp. Three ports are closed sphere shutter excluding direct eye exposure to the sensor - for a correct measurement of the sensor must "see" only the reflected light.

That's sphere test ports look outside. Their holes are plugged, the ends of which are painted with the same paint as the entire sphere.

Of course, the easiest option - to use my TSL2561 sensor and instrument Lamptest-1But it turned out that the luminance values output from this sensor will depend on the color temperature of the lamp. Most likely the same will be for any sensor-based photodiode, because of its spectral sensitivity is not uniform.

In all professional instruments to measure the luminous flux in the photodiodes are not used as a sensor, a spectrometer, and so I think I need to use my Spectrometer Uprtek MK350D. It remains to figure out how to attach it to the field. The best option - to make mounting, position the spectrometer outside and hold it to the windows of sensors thick fiber from the port sector. What-if only to make such fiber?

Areas of use allows to measure parameters of LED lamps more quickly (I am now every month I take a pile of light bulbs and the food in the laboratory of one of friendly company). That's just my apartment is gradually turning into a laboratory. :)

P.S. Many thanks to the company INTECH Engineering and personally to the Director General of the company Alexey Pankrashin the scope and spectrometer!

P.P.S. All the defenders on the holiday!
