Friends, all welcome.

You went to the canal, which was created for all self-taught, who master manual arc welding alone. Here, we share tips and tricks that will help you in mastering this difficult, but very necessary and interesting process-manual arc welding.

And today, an interesting and important topic as self-taught cook very thin metal, less than 1 mm.

It was necessary to search for a garage to find a suitable metal piece to the desired thickness of 1 mm or less. And this part I found it was an old clip body weight from my welding inverter.

The thickness of the clamp body mass is only 0.7 mm.

Align the two halves of the case. And we will be welded along a path here this semicircle.

Welding electrode I Monolith coated with rutile, its diameter is 3 mm. The welding current is approximately 55 amps. We put a weight on the weight, and drove!

That's all stirred up our body mass, now I tell the secret of such a thin metal welding.

Schematically, I drew our weld and the process of this welding. The bottom line here such-light the electrode is formed in a split second weld pool, and here it is necessary to interrupt the welding quickly. But do not interrupt just to remove the electrode, then the liquid weld slag immediately delay the weld pool.

When the re-ignition of the welding arc will take some time to first melt the slag and then to the arc will interact with the metal. And this time, we do not have long-arc melt furnace slag, a thin metal can burn longer, so we need to directly interact with the arc weld metal.

Therefore, after the formation of the weld pool, we will interrupt welding, but also throw off slag slightly back and to the side. Schematically in the picture indicated by the arrows. Lighted arc-shaped bath slag thrown off. And so point by point. In this case, the arc when re-ignition will melt the weld metal at once, and we do not need to spend time on the molten slag.

Just remember, if you ever have something welded. If you do not beat off the slag from the weld, and start welding directly on the slag, it will take some time for it to melt it, and then to go the main welding.

But it is better to see once, let's see a video where I kept everything in detail told and showed how the body was welded by weight.
