Six months ago, I showed how you can strengthen the connection of plastic sewer pipes, to which access will be limited, this is what happened:
Well, now I am demonstrating how two pipes of different diameters and even materials can be connected.
In this case, connect an iron pipe with a diameter of 73 mm with a plastic pipe with a diameter of 50 mm.
In order to make an adapter, you need a plastic bottle, slightly larger in diameter than the pipe. It is important not to use bottles that are much wider than the pipes in circumference. Here, for example, a five-liter bottle is not appropriate.
Cut off the bottom and neck of the bottle. As shown in the photo.
And this "stub" must be heated with a construction hair dryer together with the pipe, if you do not have a hair dryer, then use an ordinary gas burner, its price is only 300 rubles.
Due to the temperature effect, the plastic tries to return to its original state and shrinks. We do the same with the connected piece of pipeline.
Having thrown the blanks on the pipes, we warm them up completely. So that the plastic is as narrow as possible. Here's an adapter turned out.
But apart from that, it accidentally turned out to be a compensator. If the adapter sits tightly on a rusty pipe and cannot be pulled out from there, then the plastic crawls perfectly in this connection if you apply force. Thus, we got a compensator. Which is needed in certain conditions. Plumbers will understand.
Naturally, such a pipeline will not be one hundred percent tight if used under water pressure. But in ventilation, or in a gravity sewer, you can use it, but very carefully.
