Greetings, fellow gardeners. Today I want to tell you that you can sow and plant in August.

All that will write - planted by me personally in the past and the year before last. No theory, only horticultural practice.

1. Cabbage

In late summer, thrives and grows cabbage ripening. Personally, I planted cabbage and Chinese.

For planting cabbage used abundantly impregnated bed of water under the bow. Seeds are planted directly in the open ground, and then are covered or lutrasilom suitable for this material. The harvest can be collected in the first ten days of September.

Chinese cabbage will ripen longer, sometimes up to 2 months. Therefore, it is best to plant it in the beginning of August.

2. Greens and salads

Salads are great for planting in the last month of summer. Last year I planted lettuce, which have already risen to the 10th of September. Do not be afraid setback, this salad can comfortably grow even at 10 degrees Celsius.

Also, it is possible to plant arugula. It is well tolerated cold and kept up pretty quickly.

Before last year I planted spinach, which is already ripe in early September and was eaten. It is true it should be watered often, otherwise growth may slow.

In addition, for planting in August are perfect:

  • Dill;
  • Basil;
  • Coriander;
  • Parsley.

I'll tell you a little secret that will allow seeds to rise a little faster.

Pour in the palm of a handful of seeds and gently rub against each other. After this procedure, there are small cracks that allow you to start the growth and development faster. Just do not overdo it, otherwise you may damage the seed itself.

3. radish

Another late contender for the landing - radish. Can be planted any kind of vegetable.

As practice shows, it is best to plant radishes in the garden, where previously grown cucumbers. And if they were fed on time, expect a fine crop of this root crop.

Planted the seeds need no closer than 25-35 cm. apart. We need a lot of trace elements and nutrients for the formation of a healthy fetus. Do not force the plant to fight for them with other players.

4. Beet

If the weather pleases and autumn cold is not planned, it is possible to plant beets. Only warn you, the harvest can be lost. After all, I come this vegetable from the Mediterranean and cold suffers badly. Therefore, you should not keen on landing.

One day, I lost the entire crop due to the cold nights in August. Although I immediately knew the risks, it was still very disappointing.

5. Radish

Radishes matures very quickly, it is quite some 2-3 weeks. Therefore, planting it in early August, the crop will be ready in the last days of the month.

It is best to sow radishes in a bed of garlic or a pea. Autumn sun and prepared by the precursors of the soil, will provide an even better harvest of spring.

However, radish afraid of frost, so planting it in the end of August, you run the risk of losing the entire crop.
