Owners of private houses and suburban areas often face a problem when their beautiful tiled paths are covered with grass. Not only do weeds spoil the overall look, but they can also lift slabs, destroying the path.
There is an opinion that it is necessary to dig up the ground, and then get rid of the roots. Supposedly, then the grass will stop growing in this area of the soil. Until recently, I truly believed in this method.
The gaps between the tiles are the most favorable environment for grass seeds. Once there, they quickly germinate. High humidity and cool shade encourage weed growth.
Unfortunately, digging up the grass will not completely eradicate the grass. After a while, she will be able to germinate again on your path.
Particularly dangerous is the germination of weeds for paving paths. The consequences of the appearance of grass can be very serious.
I tell you how to forget about weeds on the paths forever!
First, I will note that some types of grass cannot be completely removed.
1. You can try to uproot the grass. Naturally, the result will be visible, but you will not be happy for long. Even small weeds have a large root system, so they will soon sprout again.
2. You can walk along the seams with a gas burner or a hot air gun. Also, some pour boiling water over the joints.
3. Prepare a solution using vinegar and salt. I want to warn you that the method is effective, but it has dire consequences. Concrete or tiles can begin to collapse when exposed to mortar. Only high quality materials are able to maintain their appearance.
For cooking dilute one part vinegar with three parts water. Add a large spoonful of salt there. Pour the resulting product into a spray bottle, adding a teaspoon of any detergent to it. Thanks to this, the solution will keep well on the weeds.
It is better to process it in the evening so that the unpleasant smell of vinegar has time to disappear overnight.
After 12 hours, you will see the result. The weeds in the crevices will turn dry and black. Again, if you are not sure about the quality of the tiles, it is better not to use this method!
