To cope with the problem, first of all you need to figure out what roofing material is and what leads to its gluing. This material is a roofing board. Initially, it is thoroughly impregnated with petroleum bitumen, subject to melting, and then treated with a bitumen fraction, which practically does not melt.
Sometimes roofing material, wrapped in rolls, sticks together. You can avoid this if you first sprinkle the surface of the cardboard with bedding (both fine-grained and coarsely fractional are suitable). Thanks to the processing, the layers of bitumen will not stick together.
The main thing is to ensure proper storage of the material. Rolls should only be in a vertical position, some end of the roll acts as a support.
The next condition that must be monitored is the appropriate storage temperature. For roofing material, low thermometer readings are considered the best. The material should not be exposed to direct sunlight. As a rule, manufacturers indicate the shelf life of the cardboard - a year from the date of manufacture.
If the roofing material, rolled into a roll, is nevertheless glued, you should not immediately carry it to the trash. The material can be unwound without damage. To do this, the roll should be dipped into hot water so that it disappears under it for a couple of centimeters. A suitable water temperature is about 60 degrees.
After about half an hour, try unwinding the sticky roll by rewinding it into a new roll. All actions are performed right in the water. Take precautions: if the water is too hot, you risk burning your hands. When doing manipulations, try not to tear the material.
If the layers are too stuck together, you can try pulling them apart with a sharp tool. Please note that in cold water, it is unlikely that roofing material can be unwound without loss. After completing all the steps, place a new roll in the tray and wait until all the water has drained from it.
Thanks to the above actions, I gave a second life to three rolls of roofing material. I did not raise my hand to throw it away, and so they still served me a good service.
