When my wife and I were discussing options for heating our house, we came to the conclusion that solid fuel is not suitable for us. We just needed the heating to work normally on its own, without our regular intervention.
Therefore, electricity, gas and central heating were put on the scales. From all this, we chose electricity. I want to talk in more detail about why we stopped at this particular option.
The central boiler room is good, but not yet our option!
When I bought a plot of land within the city, I learned that a central heating main runs a few meters from it. There are a total of five houses on our street.
One of our neighbors disconnected from the boiler room on his own initiative. He fills his home with a pellet boiler. Note that the area of his house is over 270 square meters. Another neighbor did not give up central heating. His living space is approximately equal to 180 squares. So, during the heating season, he pays about 8 thousand rubles. However, he complains that the house is still cold and he has to periodically turn on the electric heaters.
The area of our house is 115 square meters. We figured that every month we would have to spend at least 4.5 thousand rubles. Compared to the electric heating method, it turns out, in principle, cheaper.
But there was one significant "but". About a quarter of our city is the private sector. We have a little more in total 10 private boiler houses. Multi-storey buildings are connected to a coal-fired power plant. To make heat tariffs more or less equal, the boiler houses were allocated money from the city budget.
But this year it was decided to cancel these subsidies. Naturally, tariffs will rise and people will feel it. My wife and I decided to take our time and see how the situation would turn out. If everything goes smoothly, then we can easily connect in a few days, since all technical conditions have been met.
Why don't we want to mess with gas?
Gasification has reached our small town! The pipe just runs along the border of our site. To connect to it you need to pay about 270 thousand rubles.
If you count, then in general it is cheaper to heat with gas than with electricity. But the difference is insignificant, given the amount that you have to pay for the initial connection. Why aren't we heating ourselves with gas yet?
As I learned, in our city you can connect more than 1600 households. In reality, there are less than 180 of them connected. People just don't have these cherished 270 thousand rubles. When we installed electricity on the site, we had to pay just over 500 rubles duties for 15 kW (3 phases). A neighbor told me that when he conducted electricity 9 years ago, the amount of connection was 80 thousand rubles in 3 phases. Later, amendments were adopted, and the cost fell to a ridiculous 500 rubles.
Something tells me that sooner or later they will come up with some kind of law to connect the gas. Judge for yourself, a lot of money has been invested in the network, and people are in no hurry to spend it. If gas networks are not used for a long time, they will become unusable.
So we decided to wait for now. Time will tell. In addition, we will not "pull" the gas connection now, since there is simply no 270 thousand rubles. ))
