Surely, I'm not the only one who often gets into metal fittings when I try to drill a hole in the wall. The situation is not pleasant. Of course, you can make another similar hole nearby, but sometimes this is not an option. If the situation does not allow turning the wall into a sieve, you need to look for alternative solutions to the problem.
You can try to drill the reinforcement. True, many simply cannot cope with this task. Arming yourself with a chisel and trying to cut the reinforcement is an interesting option, but not practical. It will be difficult to push the chisel into the small hole. This method is only suitable if the reinforcement passes near the edge of the wall.
Let me tell you about a simple way that will help you cope with a problem that initially seemed insoluble.
And so: if, while drilling a wall with a drill, you stumbled upon reinforcement, thoroughly clean the resulting hole, then moisten it inside (a medical syringe or something similar will help).
Then install a chuck that has a shank on the hammer drill. Use a second drill if possible. Take an ordinary metal drill of the same diameter as the drill. Turn on the hammer drill at low speed without hitting and carefully drill the reinforcement. Remove the drill more often and cool it down to make the process easier.
When this task is completed, put the drill back on and drill the hole further as needed.
Although the method is simple, it is possible to make it even simpler. Look in the store for special all-purpose drills that can drill both concrete and rebar. True, the prices for them can bite them. But in most cases, the money spent will fully pay off!
