There are different canopies in the bath - stepped, L-shaped, in the form of a "compartment". When arranging the interior space of the steam room, its dimensions, the location of the furnace and the place of air circulation are taken into account.
Method of placing canopies
The canopies are installed along the blank wall. It lacks windows, doors and ventilation holes. Before installation, the steam room is measured, after which a drawing is outlined. In the drawing, "strategic important" points are indicated:
· Stove;
· Boiler for water heating;
· window;
· Anchorage points for benches.
The number of levels is calculated based on the size of the steam room. For small rooms, two-level structures are used. When relying on the drawings, the amount of material that will be needed for work is calculated (with a margin of 5-10%).
When self-assembly of the curtains, a number of rules are taken into account:
- the standard canopy width is forty to sixty centimeters. The benches should not be narrowed or too wide. They are designed for a person who lies down and stretches to his full height;
- the lower canopy is placed at a distance of half a meter from the floor level. The distance between the shelves is 60 - 70 centimeters;
- the top shelf is spaced 1 meter 20 centimeters from the ceiling;
- the comfortable height of the second shelf is 110 - 115 centimeters;
- during installation, the distance between the shelves and the stove is respected (including if the stove has a protective partition). Otherwise, the risk of getting a burn increases;
- the location of the shelves takes into account the place of steam circulation - benches are not installed under it.
Installation process
When installing curtains in the steam room, work begins with the upper benches. Installation consists of the following steps:
1. Place a support block on the base for the canopy over the entire mold area. Fix the bars at 70 - 80 centimeters from each other.
2. Connect the bars of the rack with the frame base for the canopy with special screws. To increase the strength of the structure, it is allowed to install a second row of beams between the support posts. Fastening of frame elements is made with metal corners.
3. Place the prepared frame in the steam room. Rubberized gaskets are attached to the lower section of the bars. They perform two functions: they ensure the stability of the canopy and prevent the destruction of wood from moisture;
4. Make flooring - for convenience, the boards are first attached from below. The seats are made taking into account the slope so as not to impede the outflow of fluid. A centimeter gap is left between adjacent seat boards to allow the wood to dry quickly.
5. Examine the surface of the canopy and sand it - if necessary. Apply a composition of oily components to the wood, which protects the material from moisture and decay.
When installing the curtains, nails made of wood or metal are used. The installation of metal hats requires deepening into the wood, so as not to burn the skin when heating the steam room. If it is impossible to deepen the nails, then they must be closed with plastic caps.
Closing the gaps between canopy rows with beams is an optional but desirable step. An exception is the gap from the floor to the bottom shelf - it is forbidden to sheathe it. If you ignore this condition, problems with air circulation will arise in the steam room, due to which the room will not dry out.
To create comfortable conditions, the upper row is equipped with backrests and headrests. Feet stands or small benches will also help to make the canopy more comfortable.
