A luxurious flowering hydrangea bush adorns any garden. Violent flowering will last for a long time if the plant receives the necessary nutrients. This garden beauty has several preferences: she loves to grow in acidified soil, she will not refuse to "eat" and "drink" once again.
Hydrangeas need to be fed throughout the season, starting in spring.
Today, many fertilizers are sold to help gardeners. But it is not necessary to use the chemical composition, - the summer residents thought so, and as a result of experiments and many years of experience, they have accumulated their own folk recipes for dressing.
One of the "sweets" for hydrangea is kefir.
- Lactic acid bacteria supply the plant with amino acids that are vital for growth and flowering.
- Lactic acid increases the acidity of the soil, which is very favorable for the life of a beautiful flower.
The composition of kefir is absolutely harmless to the soil and the plant, but as a result of top dressing, the plant's immunity increases, which prevents the occurrence of fungal diseases.
This organic matter increases the flowering time of the hydrangea, the inflorescences become more lush, and the stems are strong.
It is very simple to prepare top dressing:
- Dissolve 1 liter of kefir in 5 liters of water heated in the sun.
- Stir until smooth.
With this solution, the bush should be watered at the very root in the amount of 2 liters for one plant.
- Before this procedure, pre-pour with plain water.
- To carry out top dressing in the morning hours or before sunset.
Kefir can be fed once every 3 weeks. In spring, nutrients are needed for active growth, in summer for lush flowering.
- After feeding, the soil should be loosened to prevent root rot.
Instead of kefir, you can use whey, fermented baked milk, yogurt and other fermented milk drinks. This feeding is not quite common, but very effective.
During the growing season, foliar feeding is helpful. For spraying, you will need a solution with a lower concentration (1 liter of kefir per 10 liters of water). Protein can get stuck in the spray nozzle, so you can use a watering can. To increase the acidity of the soil, solutions of vinegar, potassium permanganate, ammonia, citric acid are used.
IMPORTANT! Not all plants can grow in acidic soil; allocate a separate place for hydrangea.
In dry summers, the plant needs frequent watering.
