All vegetable crops love when various top dressings are introduced into the soil for them. Anyone who wants to get a good cabbage crop should know when and how to feed the cabbage.

According to the rules of agricultural technology, the first top dressing should be done immediately after planting the seedlings in the ground. At this time, the seedlings begin to intensively grow greens and quickly absorb all nutrients from the soil.

At this stage, growing seedlings especially need nitrogen. Plants can obtain this element both from ready-made mineral fertilizers and from organic matter.

Experienced gardeners 20-25 days before transplanting fertilize the future cabbage patch with the following composition - humus plus wood ash. It is also useful to add a little nitrophosphate to the ground at this time.

It is advisable not to just throw fertilizer into the ground, and plan the holes on the bed and pour them with water with nitrophos at the rate of 1 tsp. l. top dressing for 1 hole.

If this procedure was carried out before transplanting seedlings, then the first real top dressing can be organized only 25-30 days after they were planted in open ground. If there was no preliminary fertilization of the soil, then it is recommended to feed the seedlings 10 days after transplanting. In any case, the first feeding should be carried out when there are at least 2 true leaves on the seedling.
