In the first year of my gardening from the carrot garden, I gathered not root crops, but a knuckle army. Vegetables grew with two tails, twisted "limbs" and other convolutions. These "ditties" I put into processing.

I realized that in the beds you can't do without fertilizers, as well as without a sense of humor. I always want to get crispy and sweet carrots, which grew up in my grandmother's garden during my childhood. By the way, she sowed carrots in the place where cabbage grew last season.

So that the growth of the tops is not to the detriment of the roots, I learned how to properly "feed" the crop. Then the "scythe on the street" does not fade, does not turn yellow, and I dig up the "girl from the land" in the juice itself. 🥕 😊 👌

✅ To stimulate growth, I use yeast feeding. I use live and dry yeast. They activate the microflora in the soil, accelerate the formation and growth of root crops, and increase plant immunity. Carrots from such feeding become stronger and grow in the correct shape.

  • I dissolve 0.5 kg of raw yeast in 5 liters of warm water, add a spoonful of sugar.
  • I mix and pour 0.2 l of this solution into 10 l of warm water. With this treat I regale the carrots, watering between the rows closer to the base of the root crop.
✔ If you don't have fresh yeast on hand, a solution from a pack of dry yeast and 2 tablespoons of sugar, I insist for several hours in 10 liters of warm water. I dilute the infusion with ordinary water 1: 2 and water it in dry weather in the morning or evening. This nutrition is effective when the soil is warm enough, because the activity of bacteria at low temperatures is noticeably reduced.

✅ The presence of boron in the soil gives the sweet taste and crunchiness of carrots. This element increases the content of sugar, vitamin C, carotene in vegetables, improves metabolism.

Boric acid feeding I spend it during the period of growing green mass and after 3 weeks, during the growth of root crops. I noticed that such fertilization significantly improves the taste of the fruit.

  • I dissolve boric acid in an amount of 1 tsp in 1 liter of hot water (it does not dissolve in cold water).
  • I add the solution to a bucket with 10 liters of water warmed up in the sun and stir thoroughly with a wooden stick.

I water my branchy persons with this potion. The procedure is carried out at the end of June, when the root crop is formed.

✅ Herbal infusions nourish root crops for free and effectively. For the preparation of vitamin "compote" I use nettle and dandelion leaves. When they are not there, I use any weeds. I grind the greens collected in the nearest ravine in a garden shredder (By the way, a very handy thing, I highly recommend it! 😊 👌 I have dreamed for a long time, and this season I have finally acquired here. Joy now, as they say, full of pants 😂).

So, I fill a bucket or barrel 2/3 with chopped grass. I fill the contents with water, close the lid and leave for about a week. I stir it once a day. For watering for 10 liters of water, add 1 liter of infusion. I treat this cocktail to carrots. If I don't like the appearance of the tops, I sprinkle the garden ash, and then I water.

✅ To prevent pests and rot, I add 3 g of potassium permanganate or 20 drops of iodine to 10 liters of irrigation liquid.
