Review: Eufy RoboVac L70 Hybrid washing robot vacuum cleaner

This robot vacuum cleaner orients itself using a lidar, builds maps of the room, is controlled from the application and by voice, and can talk. And he not only vacuums, but also mops the floor.


The first robotic vacuum cleaners did not differ in intelligence - they moved chaotically around the room and were controlled, at best, by an infrared remote control. Modern robots are much smarter: they have acquired navigation, are controlled from a smartphone, build maps of the premises and move along optimal trajectories.

Have Eufy RoboVac L70 Hybrid a lot of sensors, but the main one is a laser lidar rotating under a round cover on the shoulder of the body. With the help of lidar, a room map is built, not only helping the robot to move optimally, but also allowing you to select rooms and areas for cleaning and set virtual barriers.

The first robotic vacuum cleaners were more electric brooms than vacuum cleaners. The Eufy RoboVac L70 Hybrid has a suction power of 2200 Pa, and the power is regulated from the application and there is an automatic power increase in dirty places.

The first robots were equipped with NiMh batteries, which did not last long and they quickly failed. The Eufy RoboVac L70 Hybrid is powered by a 5200 mAh lithium-ion battery and can operate autonomously for up to two and a half hours.

Includes a nozzle for wet cleaning, a base station with a power supply, a lining for the base station that protects the floor from moisture, instructions in Russian and English.


The base station has a compartment for excess cord.


The robot is equipped with one main brush, in which bristles and rubber blades alternate, an additional brush rakes up debris to the main one.


For cleaning the floor, a wet cleaning nozzle with a cloth is installed.


The rag slides into the groove and is fastened with Velcro.


To prevent the robot with a wet cloth from spoiling the floor near the base, a transparent lining is used (eight ovals on the lining are not holes, but silicone Velcro, which does not allow the lining to move).

The main brush can be easily removed for cleaning.


The top cover of the robot leans back, under it you can see the combined container.


The container has two isolated floors: the lower one, with a volume of 0.45 l for dust, and the upper one for clean water.


Water is poured through a hole closed with a blue plug.


The trash bin is equipped with a triple air filter: the first stage is a fine nylon mesh, the second stage is foam, the third is a HEPA filter.


In the compartment for the container, everything is simple - on the left there is a hole through which dust is sucked in from the main brush, on the right openings of the vacuum pump, on the back left in the photo - a fitting through which a clean piece is supplied to the rag from the container water.


Thanks to this design, the interior of the robot is easy to clean.

There are two buttons and three indicators on the robot body. The first button turns on and off the robot vacuum cleaner, starts and stops cleaning, when pressed for a long time, local cleaning around the point starts. The second button sends the robot to the base.

To control the robot via wi-fi, you can install the EufyHome application on your smartphone, which gives you much more control over the vacuum cleaner.


From the application, you can start cleaning, send the robot to charge, set up a cleaning schedule, and start cleaning in certain areas. You can control the robot manually (if you want to ride your cat on it), there are usage statistics and an indication of the wear of consumables.


The app has various settings. You can select the suction power, activate the BoostiQ power boost in dirty places, adjust the intensity of water supply in the floor cleaning mode, select the language of the robot voice messages (there is Russian).


Eufy is compatible with Yandex smart home and a robot vacuum cleaner can be added in the Yandex application, after which the robot will start cleaning by the voice command "Alice vacuum cleaner".


Thanks to the lidar, within a few seconds after the start of cleaning, the robot builds a map of the room, and then only refines it. During the cleaning process, all movements of the robot are visible in the application. First, the robot walks the room along the walls, then passes the entire surface of the floor in one direction, then in the other, so the robot makes at least two passes along one place on the floor.


Room cleaning 18 sq.m. took 15 minutes.

Fine dust is compressed into a pillow on a nylon filter.


For wet cleaning, you need to pour a little water into the top of the container, moisten and wring out a rag.


After the passage of the robot, a slightly damp footprint remains on the floor.


With wet cleaning, the robot only makes one pass on the floor. The same room took 10 minutes to clean.

The RoboVac L70 Hybrid robot vacuum cleaner is the top model in the Eufy line of vacuum cleaners, it costs 39,990 rubles. But Eufy also has other robot vacuum cleaners, prices for which start at 11,990 rubles.
