I live in a new modern house, but alas, there are tiny red ants in the apartment. To combat them, I have already tried several means and almost exterminated the uninvited red-haired guests, but not quite.
In March of this year, I wrote a post "Hordes of red monsters" (https://ammo1.livejournal.com/1130257.html), in the comments to it, they gave a lot of tips for dealing with ants.
Perhaps the most valuable advice is to make a hydro-barrier for the cat bowl (it was in it that there was always the maximum number of ants that eat half-eaten cat food). The bowl is now in the tray of the flower pot, which is filled with mute water. There are no more ants in the bowl.
Let me remind you that I first used Delicia to fight the ants. There were fewer ants, but they did not disappear.
After reading all the tips, I ordered an insect repellent called Master 250 ISS. It cost 850 rubles with delivery to the nearest CDEK point.
On the website where this product is sold, they write that his idea is in the microencapsulation of an insecticide (the poison is placed in a microscopic capsule made of something tasty for insects). They promise that the entire population of pests will die, they still promise up to 6 months of action after application.
The liquid is diluted with water 1:25 and the surfaces are treated with a spray bottle. This bottle is enough for 1 liter of working solution, which is a lot.
Whether there really are any capsules, I do not know, but I can say for sure that the statement "has a faint, the quickly weathered smell "does not correspond to reality - it stinks wow, just like I used it only in respirator.
The main thing is that this thing works - the ants are almost gone. But not really. I used poison on the baseboards and walls in the kitchen, toilet and bathroom. But occasionally scout ants are found everywhere - today I crushed one on my desk in the room farthest from the kitchen and bathroom.
And when a cake was left on the balcony on his birthday, the next morning it was found in its box several dozen red-haired bastards (despite the fact that neither before nor after I have not a single ant on the balcony met).
Most likely, ants live in large numbers somewhere near neighbors, and only scouts are sent to me, some of whom probably die from poison.
It will be necessary to engage in a survey of neighbors and those who admit that they have ants, give this poison free of charge (all the same, this bottle will be enough for me for a hundred years).
