Last week I went to the only working "big" Ikea store to compare and sit on two versions of the Markus computer chair. As a result, I bought a chair a third cheaper and I didn't have to assemble it. :)
Until now, only one "big" Ikea operates in Moscow - Tyoply Stan. The site scares that a queue at the entrance is possible, but I still dared to go and instead of a queue I found only fences for her, and the entrance was completely free, and at the box office for a couple of people (it was on June 16 at 18-20 hours).
I have had a problem with my work chair for a couple of months now: the Sigma, which I bought from Metro many years ago, the armrests broke off and the gas lift finally broke down - the chair was forever in a very uncomfortable lower position.
The College chair bought in April at Ozone was defective and unsuccessful. I successfully passed it to the store. In the comments to post about that chair many have written that one of the best options for computer chairs is Ikea Markus with a 10-year warranty.
The traditional "Markus" with a leather seat, headrest and armrests is now on sale in Ikea for 13999 rub and a new version with a fabric seat and headrest and plastic armrests "soft-touch" for 11999 rub.
I was afraid that the leather seat and armrests might scratch my cats, so I aimed at the cloth version (and 14 thousand for a chair is somehow quite a pity).
I sat on one and the other. At the new Markus, I was confused by the armrests - they were unpleasant to the touch (as it turned out later, it was just that people smeared their dirty hands at the exhibition model). In general, I sat and sat and decided not to take anything yet.
And already at the exit, looking into the section of discounted goods, I saw a "cloth" Markus for 8,000 rubles. The label stated the reason for the "scratches, scuffs" markdown, but in fact it was a brand new chair. The only defect was created by the employees of the markdown department themselves - they wrote something in black marker directly on the upholstery of the back of the chair at the back.
I sat down on the armchair again and decided that it was necessary to take for eight thousand. An additional bonus - the chair is already assembled and did not have to spend time assembling it.
I have been sitting on it for a week and so far I am very pleased. The lettering on the back is almost wiped off.
The fabric cover also had a drawback in terms of cats - they "sit up" it, leaving shreds of hair that are rather difficult to peel off. I had to use a Fix Price rubber door mat to cover the seat of my new chair when I leave the house.
Moral: when you are in Ikea, go to the section of discounted goods. There are new things there at interesting prices.
P.S. It will be necessary to file a complaint on the Ikea website so that the employees of the markdown department do not spoil good things with a marker and did not pin the labels with a gun with plastic staples, which then cannot be completely pulled out of upholstery. It is quite possible to mark a discounted item with a marker in an invisible place (in the case of an armchair under the seat), and the label can be fixed without brackets, without spoiling the goods.
