Choosing a cordless mower-trimmer as a birthday present for my mother, I realized that I also wanted one, as a result I bought two at once.
Yesterday I used it for the first time - an awesome unit!
It is important to understand that such a small and lightweight trimmer is not intended to mow the grass throughout the summer cottage. It is needed in order to mow where the main mower-cart cannot pass. Such places are scattered throughout the site, so using the network trimmer (I have had three of them in my dacha in 20 years) is inconvenient, because for the sake of To unwind several stalks of nettles up to 30 meters of wire is terribly lazy, and you just take the battery one and walk around the site with it, eliminating the shortcomings main mowing.
There is one line, not two, which is good - the reel is simple and easy to wind. In order for the line to be pulled out of the reel, it is enough to hit the head on the ground while the mower is working.
The head rotates at the desired angle (you need to press the big black button and turn the head as you want).
The bar is telescopic (to change its length, you need to turn the lock and pull out the bar).
The battery is located under the handle. To protect against accidental start, to start the trimmer, you must first slide the slider on top of the handle, and then press the button below. After starting the slider, you can release it, just hold the button. There is a red LED that starts blinking when the battery is almost discharged, however, it is not really needed - the battery discharge is already obvious - the trimmer reduces the speed.
The kit includes an additional line (the main line is already tucked into the reel) and a shoulder strap. I haven't used a belt yet - the mower is very light - 3.1 kg with a battery.
A huge plus of the RF bundle is the battery and charger.
Includes a BL1830B battery (18V 3Ah).
The battery has a button and four LEDs to check the charge level.
Also included is the DC18RC 9A Super Fast Charger.
The battery lasts for 23 minutes of continuous mowing (this is quite a lot, although the figure seems small). Charging takes 25 minutes. The fan makes a rather loud noise during charging. At the end of charging, a loud squeak is heard (this is convenient when you rest after mowing and wait for the battery to charge).
The trimmer is sold in two trim levels - DUR181Z (from 4320 rubles) without a battery and charger and DUR181RF (from 6850 rubles) with a BL1830B battery (18V 3Ah) and a DC18RC (9A) charger.
The Z package is not worth buying, even if you already have a Makita charger and battery. In the reviews they joke that the trimmer itself is included in the RF bundle as a gift: indeed, the DC18RC charger costs 3800 rubles separately, the battery BL1830B 3100 rubles and it turns out that a trimmer complete with a charger and a battery is cheaper than a charger and a battery separately. :)
There is a nuance with the purchase of any Makita equipment: three branded online stores of the brand at the same prices as the rest, give their warranty for 5 years (the courier brings two warranty coupons - Makitovsky for a year, and there are five years). Of course, I bought the trimmers from one of these stores. I will not give links - you will find it yourself.
I am very pleased with the trimmer - yesterday, on one charge, I mowed almost everything that the mower-cart did not reach. Mom also liked the gift.
