It so happened that I inherited the dacha from my grandmother, who put her whole soul into her garden. However, life developed in such a way that I was able to use the land plot for its intended purpose only after several decades - during this period I simply lived in another city. Naturally, after such a break, the garden was simply overgrown with weeds, and the soil lost its former structure.

However, I did not despair, because I knew one grandmother's secret, with which it was easy to make the soil looser and more convenient for the growth of crops. The thing is that grandmother did not recognize absolutely any fertilizers in the beds, except for river silt - near our site there is a small reservoir, which became the source of this nutrient. Granny simply put silt into the soil, and then collected baskets of a delicious harvest.

So, I also decided to reanimate the land in this proven way - my husband dug a hole on the site, which we gradually began to fill with river fertilizer. Yes, this was necessary in order for the sludge to settle for a year and a half, since

it cannot be used fresh. From time to time I mixed the contents of the pit with a shovel, and the next season I began to fertilize the soil with it, based on 3 kg of fertilizer per 1.5 sq. m of the garden.

What changes did I manage to achieve in the end?

Due to the fact that the silt contains sand, the land on the site became loose and airy - it is on such beds that root crops grow best. Another plus of silt is that this fertilizer is absolutely natural, therefore, the harvest is as natural as possible, respectively.

Potassium, magnesium, nitrogen - substances with which the silt saturates the soil - they play an important role for the development and growth of garden crops. In addition, this supplement does not contain weed seeds, such as manure, and is completely free, thanks to which you can spend saved finances on personal needs.

In general, if you are just as lucky as me and there is a small lake or pond near your garden, now you know what benefits this reservoir can bring to your beds. Silt is an excellent fertilizer, which will make the soil structure looser and saturate it with useful trace elements.
