Remember how in childhood grandmothers and mothers used to tell us all kinds of "slander" during hiccups? It is worth noting that this did not help or did help, but not for everyone. Some told us to drink more water or hold our breath for a couple of seconds, which was also not always effective. Recently, I learned a strange method, after trying which I realized that it is effective.
It is commonly said that the most effective way is to drink more water.. Once I drank a couple of glasses - it didn't help. Once I read that it still needs to be done correctly (according to some scheme). It looks like this: 7 small sips and 1 large (you need to do all this quickly, without stopping). Once I tried this method and, along with the others, it was more or less effective (until I learned about the method, which I will discuss later).
Lemon juice also helps., but you need to be careful with it (especially for people with gastrointestinal problems). If you dilute it, the effect will no longer be the same. Children can be given a sour candy - it helps the growing body perfectly, but such a candy is not always at hand.
It is also advised to scare a person, but personally I am against this method. If you scare a child, you can get stuttering. Many people advise this method, although it is dangerous for the psyche. There are also a couple of such "scary" tips (for example, to lean a knife against the tip of the nose of the person who is hiccuping). In my opinion, generally a primitive method. One of the less dangerous ways is to stand up with the letter "G", tilt your head up and stretch your neck. I haven't tried it myself, but they write that it helps.
But this method, which I will talk about now, is the most effective and best. If you have hiccups, then you need to take any bag and just breathe in it (approximately the same method is used for panic attacks). It is very important that the air inhaled and exhaled is the same. That is why you need to press the bag to your lips so that oxygen from outside does not enter it.
It works like this: you gradually "displace" oxygen and breathe carbon dioxide, and it quickly stops hiccups. It is important to remember that you do not need to be fanatic about this method (it will be enough to inhale and exhale 3-5 times). This method has already been tested on several people, and I can assure you that it works!
