Greenhouse varieties

Peppers are also grown outdoors, but most Siberian gardeners prefer greenhouses and hotbeds. This is more reliable, because these structures can retain heat, creating a favorable environment for the growth and development of these vegetables. But the kind of culture also matters. Consider the varieties that the inhabitants of Siberia prefer to choose.

Hercules

The height of the plant with ripe peppers is 70 cm, and the fruits weigh 150-300 g. The combination of these characteristics suggests that the plant needs support and a garter. The pepper is bright red, thick, juicy, dense.

Hercules is grown both in the greenhouse and in the open field. This variety perfectly resists diseases, pests, and also bad weather.

Gardeners believe that the most valuable characteristic of a vegetable is the ability of its fruits to transfer storage and transportation over long distances. Thanks to this, varieties of peppers for Siberia, in particular Hercules, can often be found on the shelves of shops and markets. They are also used in many culinary recipes.

Red Bull

This hybrid with an average germination rate was bred so that it could be cultivated in the harsh conditions of Siberia. It is grown both in greenhouses and in the open field. The red bull gives a great harvest. With a plant height of 1.5 m and 10 kg of fruit per 1 m², supports and garters are required, you cannot do without this. Such a large number of specimens on a high stem without a garter will cause the plant to bend down. The main advantage can be called ovaries, which are formed even in cloudy weather. However, in the presence of a large amount of nitrogen in the ground, these ovaries will crumble.

At first, the fruits are green, then, when ripe, they turn red. The pulp has a sweet taste, it is juicy, the walls are up to 1 cm thick.

Denis

The harvest of this plant ripens in 95-100 days after the first shoots have appeared. Such vegetables are rare for Siberia, so buyers in the region appreciate them excellently. There are no special conditions for this variety. The only requirement is that Denis pepper cannot be grown outdoors.

The bushes reach a height of 60-70 cm, but the fruits weigh up to 400 g, so you need to tie up the plant. This variety behaves well when frozen and stored, but it is still recommended to consume it immediately after harvest.

The harsh conditions of Siberia - bad weather, cold - should not stop you from growing your own vegetables. Choose varieties that are suitable for cold climates, plant them in greenhouses and get great yields as a result.
