Good afternoon, my reader. There are no trifles in growing the “queen of flowers”. Characteristic

This type of garden queen is divided into 3 groups:

  • semi-leafy - (bush height from 1.5 to 3 m);
  • climbing - (3-5 m);
  • curly - (10-15 m).

A tall plant needs support. It is used to decorate gazebos, open verandas, arched structures, vertical "green walls".

Buds of different sizes (2.5-12 cm in diameter) are painted in different tones of color. Depending on the variety, the flowering period lasts from 1 to 3.5 months.

Landing place

The climbing rose feels comfortable in areas exposed to the sun, protected from the cold winter winds. The culture prefers light, fertile, well-permeable soil. However, it can also grow on loams if diluted with sand, low-lying peat, humus and compost.

Clay and organic nutrients (rotted manure, bird droppings, peat, compost, wood ash) are added to sandy soil to retain moisture. The planting hole is equipped with drainage, since roses do not like stagnant moisture.

In group plantings, it is important to maintain an interval between plants of at least 50-60 cm. For climbing varieties, this distance can be increased to 1 m. In such conditions, a flowering shrub will have room for full development.

Planting period

This event can be carried out both in spring and autumn. It is important to take into account that in hot weather, young seedlings should be shaded at noon from the bright rays of the sun. So it will be easier for the bush to adapt to new conditions.

In the fall, the plant is planted 2-3 weeks before the start of frost, so that it has time to take root. In addition, in regions with a harsh climate, young seedlings must be covered for the winter, having previously mulched the near-stem zone of the bush.

Care

If the flower is given timely attention, then there are no problems with its cultivation.

Watering

Climbing roses love abundant watering, especially during bud formation and flowering. However, it's important not to overdo it. In dry weather, a bucket of water is enough for 1 bush every 7-10 days.

Important! Excess moisture provokes root rot and the occurrence of fungal infections.

Top dressing

Young seedlings begin to feed 2-3 weeks after planting. This time is necessary for the plant to adapt to new conditions.

In the spring, roses are fed with nitrogen - it stimulates the growth and full development of the lashes. Throughout the season, they are fed 2 times a month with complex mineral fertilizers, alternating with organic fertilizers.

At the end of the season, a weakened (after flowering) plant and depleted soil must be fed with phosphorus and potassium. This will strengthen the immune system and the root system of the rose, help it to winter safely. In addition, it will have a positive effect on the setting of buds for the next summer.

It is not difficult to grow a climbing rose outdoors if it is properly cared for. With a little time and effort, even a beginner in gardening will get the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of a flowering shrub.
