The October morning looks more like a continuation of the night due to the slow dawn, and the plants are preparing for hibernation. It's time to be a little lazy and relax, however, in November there are important things to do, below is a list of them.
Sanitary inspection of the site
Plants on the site, shrubs, fruit crops, trees must be carefully examined for pests and diseases. It is necessary to collect the fallen leaves, burn them - it is in such a place that insects like to live. Mummified fruits also pose a danger to the life of plants; they must be removed from fruit crops.
Take into account the weather conditions: if the temperature is above 6 degrees, the tree trunks must be whitewashed with a solution of lime in the proportion of 2 kg of lime to 10 liters of water. To prevent the mixture from going into the soil, add a pound of clay, the same amount of mullein and 200 g of flour paste to the solution.
Hilling trees
The area near the trunk of mature trees must be sprinkled with a thick layer of peat, the height is about 15 cm. Tie the branches forks and young (up to 3 years old) trunks with coniferous branches or raspberry stems, digging in the ends of the harness. Preparing shrubs for winter

If you want to get two small harvests of raspberries, you need to remove weak shoots and two-year branches, shorten the tops of annual stems.
Branches over 2 years old and lignified stems are removed from blackberries. Young shoots must be left, it is on them that the fruits will form. Shoots older than 6 years are removed from the black currant bush, and stems older than 8 years from the gooseberry.
Treat the area from pests
To prevent diseases such as scab, powdery mildew, gray and fruit rot, fruit crops should be sprayed with a 3% solution of ferrous sulfate. You can use its alternative, copper sulfate, to treat scab, coccomycosis. A well-known remedy for fighting infections is Bordeaux liquid, it is treated with berry bushes, it protects against the above diseases. Please note: these products cannot be mixed.
Organize water charging irrigation
In November, it is important to saturate the plants with moisture. The fact is that the soil saturated with water will freeze much more slowly than dry, the preferred depth of such impregnation is 60-80 cm. But it must be borne in mind that each tree has its own watering rates, it is important not to overdo it. It will be good if you add fertilizing with fertilizers from phosphorus and potassium to such moisture.
After this event, you need to cover it with a layer of manure (or compost) 6-8 cm thick. This mulching helps to retain moisture and retain nutrients.
Set up bird feeders
Birds are faithful helpers in the fight against insects. In order for the birds to be supportive of you, you need to brighten up their life in winter by installing feeders on the site. You will need plastic bottles, cans, wood as scrap materials. Be careful in choosing food, do not harm the smaller brothers!
Protect your planting from rodents
The bases of garden plants must be covered with spruce branches, fiberglass or any other means that will protect the shrubs from the raids of rodents. They cannot reach bird feeders, but these pests can ruin the life of plants.
Prepare scions
It is customary to prepare cuttings for scion even before the onset of frost. Watch the air temperature: when it reaches -8, you need to cut off the shoots, and you need to store the seedlings and cuttings at zero degrees. 2 weeks before vaccination, transfer them to a warm room with a temperature of 15-18 degrees and warm up the material.
Treat the area for the lawn
If you want to be the owner of a lawn on the site and put the beds under this design element, remove debris and stones from the ground, then pour a layer of fertile soil and tamp the upper part.
