A lot has been written about solutions, infusions and decoctions from aphids, but little is said about how to remove the pest from the leaves. But it is from this difficult process that the struggle for the salvation of culture begins. In this article, I want to talk about the method that I discovered literally last summer. Hope it will be helpful for someone.

Usually, after finding aphids, I took a soapy solution and began to manually remove the pest. Since it was inconvenient to scrub small insects with gloves, I worked with my bare hands. Which, of course, is not recommended. This way I was able to clear the branches at my height. Everything that was above the outstretched arms remained practically untreated.

Besides the fact that the process was tedious and time-consuming, the quality of processing left much to be desired. However, this was enough to carry out spraying with infusion or preparation.

At one point, I got so tired of working with my hands that I just took the hose, squeezed the end with my finger and began to wash off the aphids with a strong stream of water. The result was not bad, but it was inconvenient and the strong jet damaged the young branches. To improve the method, I purchased a spray nozzle with the ability to adjust the force and type of pressure.

As a result, I came to the conclusion that the most effective way to remove aphids is as follows. A leaf with a pest is placed on the hand with the back side up (where the aphid is), straightened and thoroughly washed with water. It will be much more convenient if the hose nozzle has the ability to stop the water supply. That is, it works on the principle of a spray bottle - water flows only when we press.

By the way, there is a little trick. It will only work if there is a nozzle. If the water in the tap is very cold, I pull the entire hose out to a sunny, heated place and leave it to warm up. Since water is supplied in a small amount intermittently during processing, it has time to warm up a little. Not much, but better than cold immediately.
