Internal layout of the sauna house
In the classic version, the Russian bath has 3 functional rooms: a dressing room (dressing room), where visitors leave clothes and other things, a shower room (washing room) and a steam room. In some layouts, there is no separation between the shower and the steam room, and both processes are performed in the same room.
In the baths, depending on the area and the wishes of the owners, other areas can be provided: a kitchen or a bar, a lounge, a billiard room, a smoking room. Many owners strive to build a small pool in the bathhouse.
In some cases, in a building intended for a bath, a special room is allocated where guests can stay. For this purpose, a dressing room, a relaxation room or a kitchen can be used if it is spacious enough. In the guest room there is a sofa or an ottoman, which, if necessary, can become a sleeping place for one person or a couple.
Bath decoration
The owners most often prefer to decorate the premises in the traditional Russian style: they may be present in the interior various items of antique utensils, in the center a massive wooden table is required, along the perimeter of the walls there are beds and shops. In this case, you can decorate rooms with embroidered towels, wicker baskets and chests for clothes, forged items, wooden household items and dishes, carvings. On the walls, you can hang brooms from different types of trees: birch, linden, oak, fir. Large bunches of dried aromatic herbs will not be superfluous. In the summer, it is enough to simply decorate the bath rooms with fresh flowers and wreaths from them.
The notes of modernity are brought with the help of various household appliances, TV, billiards.
Wood is still the main material for interior decoration. It meets several important criteria:
- environmentally friendly material that does not cause allergic reactions and does not burn when in contact with the skin;
- wood is resistant to high temperature and temperature drops, high humidity and water ingress;
- this material is easy to clean and does not come into contact with chemicals;
- the tree is highly decorative, does not require additional painting or other processing.
In addition, under the influence of high temperature and steam, the wood fills the room with a pleasant aroma.
It is advisable to choose hardwood for finishing the steam room:
- Linden wood is most often used - it has the ability to quickly warm up, while giving off an unobtrusive aroma. In addition, the linden tree does not darken even after a long time.
- Quite often, especially in the regions of the North, aspen is used for interior decoration of the steam room - it has bactericidal properties and strong wood.
- Alder is also often used - it is pleasant to the touch, resistant to hot and cold water, steam and condensation.
It is important to remember that the wood in the steam room must not be painted or varnished. when exposed to high temperatures, these chemicals can melt and give off unpleasant odors.
For finishing the dressing room, experts recommend using conifers. They saturate the air in the room with a special aroma that has healing qualities. Best to use:
- Pine - it can last for several decades without losing its structure and decorative effect. In addition, the scent of this tree is beneficial to health.
- Spruce - its wood is dense, never cracks or darkens. In the dressing rooms, decorated with fir clapboard, it is always light.
- Fir - in terms of hardness of wood is not inferior to spruce, has a resinous aroma, but almost does not emit resin.
If there is a desire to decorate the dressing room with deciduous species, it is better to prefer birch. The entire room should be lined with wood of the same type.
Do not use wood for shower - it is better to lay it out with tiles, which are easier to care for.
