Most owners of private houses assemble stoves with their own hands when building a bath. The stove is the main structural element of the bath, it can be laid out in brick or made of sheet metal.

Construction assembly stages

The popularity of metal stoves is due to the convenience of their operation, as well as the fact that they can be assembled by hand.

The sequence of operations for assembling the furnace structure is as follows:

  • The sidewalls of the structure are seized on a metal base. A square is used to control the tacking accuracy.
  • The rear structural element is inserted and adhered to the base and sides.
  • An opening for the door is made in the front element, after which the front wall is attached to the base and sides.
  • All joints are welded.
  • The bottom of the furnace compartment of the stove is inserted and fixed on a wooden block, after which it is seized by welding to all surfaces in contact with it. After tacking, the correctness of its installation is checked and all joints are boiled.

  • The partition is inserted and grabbed, after which it is leveled and welded.
  • The inner wall of the deck is installed and scalded on both sides.
  • At the rear of the inner wall, a hole with a diameter of 100 mm is cut for the chimney.
  • The upper part is applied to the structure and scalded.
  • In the upper plate above the deck, a hole is cut under the door, which gives access to boiling water.
  • In the rear part of the upper structural element, a branch pipe with a length of 100-150 mm and a diameter slightly smaller than the pipe being installed is installed, after which it is welded.
  • A pipe is fixed, serving as a chimney, in which the damper is mounted.
The fire compartment door is made of steel with a thickness of less than 8 mm. In the process of assembling all structural elements, it is required to ensure that when welding parts, the welding does not pull the surfaces to the side.

You can quickly assemble a sheet metal stove for a bath yourself if you have the skills to work with metal and a welding machine.

Device dimensions and pattern of structural elements

The metal bath stove can have different dimensions, its dimensions depend on the parameters of the bath complex.

As standard, this node must have the following parameters:

  • rectangular base 1000x600 mm;
  • furnace compartment height 350 mm;
  • container for heating water 584x584 with a height of 400 mm.
All structural elements are manufactured in a single metal body. For making patterns, steel with a thickness of at least 8 mm is used.

The main structural elements should be as follows:

  • top and base;
  • the bottom of the combustion chamber and the inner partition;
  • rear and front structural elements;
  • side surfaces of the furnace;
  • the inner wall of the deck for water.

Cutting of sheet steel is carried out using a grinder or using a gas cutter. For convenience, a sheet of steel is laid on substrates and the contour of a structural element is outlined with chalk, after which it is cut out.

Preparing the installation site

The place for placing the stove in the bathhouse depends on the location of the door, which should not rest against it when opening.

When choosing an installation site, you must adhere to the following rules:

  • Cannot be mounted in one of the corners, because in this case, the bath space will be heated unevenly.
  • The stove should be installed on a pre-prepared concrete or brick base, which is separated from the wooden floor structures using asbestos insulation.
  • It is not recommended to use a pipe less than 100 mm and a height of up to 3 m in the design of the exhaust system.
When developing the design of the furnace, it should be remembered that a chimney with a diameter of less than 100 mm and length up to 3 m, will create insufficient traction, and this will provoke the flow of smoke inside premises.
