Good afternoon, my reader. Despite the many modern methods of heating premises, traditional stoves fired with ordinary wood are in no hurry to sink into oblivion. They can still be found in villages remote from the city, they are also popular with summer residents. Many of them believe that the best option for heating a summer cottage is a classic brick stove (Russian, Dutch, Swedish). Undoubtedly, such ovens are good, but only with constant use, since they warm up for quite a long time - in a chilled space, they sometimes have to be heated for up to a day.

If the dacha is not used constantly, then it is more expedient for it to install a metal stove (Buleryan, Breneran, Butakova). Any of them will allow you to get a comfortable temperature in the room in a few hours of heating.
Benefits of metal ovens
All of them are united by the same principle of operation, which is based on convection of cold and hot air flows. Among their main advantages:
- Ease of installation. Compared to laying a brick oven, installing a metal one will take much less time and money.
- Rapid heating of the surrounding space. A summer resident who raided his hacienda on the weekend does not have to stay in a cold room for a long time.
- Long burning of one bookmark of firewood. You don't need to be constantly distracted by putting them in the firebox. And you don't have to get up at night for this.
- Fire safety. Since many summer cottages are wooden, this quality of stoves is of paramount importance.
Ways to Improve the Efficiency of Metal Furnaces
Metal stoves are not structurally designed to hold heat and only heat when they burn. But there are a number of ways to increase their efficiency, with varying degrees of efficiency:
- Bricking them. It turns out a kind of double structure, where the heated metal heats the brick, and the brick gives off heat to the surrounding space. However, this method also has several disadvantages. Firstly, the brick will not warm up to the same degree as a traditional brick oven, which means that heating the room will be less effective. Secondly, a metal stove in this use case will quickly burn out, because due to lack of free space will cool more slowly, and, in addition, the level of its fire hazard.
- Installation of a water tank (for ovens with a horizontal top surface). When the stove is fired up, the water in the tank heats up, after which it will gradually give off heat. Albeit slightly, but this method increases the heating time of the room.
- Using the "right" fuel. This includes firewood obtained from hardwood trees. As a result of their combustion, more heat is released, and less products that form soot and soot are produced than, for example, when burning conifers.
- Fuel must be of high quality. Burning undried firewood, small branches, repair waste and garbage in the firebox will not allow you to reach the required temperature heating the furnace installation, and will also lead to the formation of a layer of soot and soot on its inner surface and in chimney.
Finally, you can use a tried and tested trick. After kindling the stove, firewood is laid in it for 2/3, and the valve and blower are closed. Due to the lack of oxygen, the process of active combustion of firewood will stop, they will only smolder. One of their bookmarks is enough for 7-8 hours, during which a constant comfortable temperature will be maintained in the room.
