Ketchup recipe with fresh apples, cinnamon and sweet paprika will help you make this permanent sweet and sour sauce with a moderate pungency, which is especially popular with children.

Homemade ketchup is free of all harmful additives and is prepared without the use of acetic acid or other food chemicals. It includes a crop of tomatoes, apples and herbs harvested from our own garden.

The cooking process also does not take much time and takes 60 minutes. About 1 liter of the finished product comes out of the ingredients below and their proportions.

Ketchup composition:

  • tomatoes - 5 kg;
  • apples - 1 kg;
  • beet sugar - 50 g;
  • salt - 30 g;
  • sweet paprika and cinnamon to taste;
  • water.

Description of making sweet tomato and apple ketchup

First, we wash and clean the tomatoes from dirt and green stalks, after which we cut the vegetables into small slices and place them in a stewpan with thick walls.

Next are apples. They also need to be thoroughly rinsed and removed from the core. The washed apples should be finely chopped and added to the saucepan to the tomatoes.

Now add a glass of boiling water to the container to the cooked apples and tomatoes. Close the saucepan tightly with a lid, send it to the stove, where we bring it to a boil over the highest heat.

After the container has boiled, we reduce the gas to a minimum and detect 45 minutes, during which you can go about your business. During this time, vegetables and fruits should steam well and give juice.

When the tomatoes with apples are boiled, they should be thoroughly rubbed through a fine sieve so that the remaining seeds and peel remain on the net. This is done not only for the convenience of eating ketchup, but also provides it with the desired consistency. Apple peel contains a lot of pectin, which thickens the dish excessively.

The mashed potatoes must be placed back in the washed saucepan and sent to the gas stove.

Now add granulated sugar and table salt to the container without any additives. A little later, ground cinnamon and paprika are poured. Half a teaspoon is enough for cinnamon, but two full spoons of paprika can be added. The taste will not be affected by this!

Now bring the sauce back to a simmer and simmer for 10 minutes without closing the lid. If the mass gurgles and splashes, you can loosely cover the saucepan, leaving a gap for steam to escape.

Tinned cans are prepared in the standard way with mandatory steam sterilization over a boiling kettle for 15 minutes. Ready-made ketchup is poured into cans from 0.5 to 1 liter and rolled up with lids.

You can store the product in the refrigerator or any cool basement. If you wish, you can not preserve the sauce, but freeze it in silicone molds, however, the taste changes somewhat from this.
