Hydroponic trays can be made from any egg trays - plastic or foam, or cardboard.

Preparing plastic or foam containers is as follows:

1. Separate the bottom of the container from the top.
2. A bottom is cut out at each recess in the lower part.
3. Remove unnecessary holders and clips.
4. Two skewers (sticks) made of wood or bamboo are attached to the upper part with tape or glue in the form of crossbars.
5. The bottom of the tray is placed on the pallet cover.

Preparing cardboard trays happens a little differently:

1. Cardboard boxes are treated with hydrogen peroxide for disinfection.
2. The bottom is cut in each recess.
3. Several containers prepared in this way seem to be inserted into each other so that their indentations coincide.

Planting onion sets

• Choose small bulbs with a diameter of two to three centimeters. You can take larger, but no more than the size of the cell.
• Only healthy bulbs are selected - without rot and softness.
• The top layer of the scales is removed.
• The top of the bulb is cut off one to two cm. If it has sprouted, it is left unchanged.
• Two or three times, pierce the root growth site with something sharp.
• Prepared bulbs are soaked in warm water for one or two days. The water is changed every 12 hours.
• After that, the onions are dried. It can be planted as soon as the scales are dry.
• The bulbs are placed in the cells of the pallet with the roots down.
• The water is poured so that it only reaches the roots.

Caring for greenery on the windowsill

Caring for such a bow is easy. It is necessary to monitor the presence of water in the pallets and its level. Bulbsmust not touch water. Against water bloom it is recommended to dilute from 2 to 6 charcoal tablets in it (its amount depends on the size of the pallet).

Water in the tray should change at least once every 7 days.

In winter necessary additional lighting. You can use a simple desk lamp for this. The pen should not touch a heated light bulb.

The green onions are cut when they grow up to 15-20 cm.One onion depending on the size gives 3-6 harvests.

One container of 10 cells is enough for a small family of greens.
