At the moment, Vladimir Putin is using the Il-96-300 aircraft, a unique liner capable of long-distance flights and one of the country's most secret aircraft.
The presidential plane is called "board number one" for a reason. This machine receives the most modern equipment and advanced equipment, the characteristics of a significant part of which (for objective reasons) were not disclosed. Today in Russia the Il-96-300 aircraft is used as the founding presidential aircraft. The aircraft belongs to the long-haul class. This means that with a full refueling of all tanks, it can fly up to 13 thousand kilometers without landing and contact with refueling aircraft.
It is very important that the IL-96 is currently being created from domestic components. The aircraft is unprofitable from a commercial point of view, therefore it is used exclusively for government needs and is assembled on special orders. According to some reports, the Il-96, used as a presidential one, is also equipped with missile deception systems (heat traps) as a last resort. It is reliably known that there are radar warfare systems such as "Mercury" and "Spora" on board. They are needed for all the same protection against flying missiles. In addition, there is an advanced radar system on board, which will not allow flying up to the presidential plane unnoticed.
