What is needed: M8 nuts and washers, M8 stud (50 cm), coaxial cable with adapter connector, 20 canning caps, Wi-Fi adapter, tool kit.
So, making a homemade Wi-Fi antenna is not that difficult. At the first stage, you need to take the canning lids and carefully cut the round part into them. After that, you should determine the middle on each cover and drill an 8 mm hole at this point. All this is necessary for further stringing the plates onto the prepared hairpin. You can determine the center using an ordinary stationery ruler. It is applied so that its corners are along the line of the circle. After that, a felt-tip pen draws two parallel lines along the edge of the ruler, and then the same marks are made, but already with an offset of 90 degrees. As a result, you should get a grid with a square in the middle.
Now it is necessary to trim all the covers to the antenna diameter corresponding to a certain scheme. So, the first cover remains unchanged, the second is cut at 68 mm, the third at 50 mm, another 17 pieces are cut at 40 mm. It is very important to keep the trim as straight as possible.
Now in all the covers you need to make a hole for the core. They are drilled in all at the same time approximately 2 mm from the edge of the two largest discs. After that, the discs are pushed onto the stud and clamped. You need to start with the smallest. Each disc is fixed with two M8 nuts. An indent of 12 and 9 mm is made between the large plates, and 7 mm between the small ones.
In order for the antenna to work, you need to connect a coaxial wire to it. To do this, first, the central vein is cleaned by a few centimeters. It is attached to a 90 mm disc. It is very important to securely fix the cable. Now the homemade antenna can be connected to the Wi-Fi adapter.
