The times of a shortage of goods and a lack of information about the essence of things, characteristic of the era of the USSR, are far behind. But surprisingly, some of the habits of Soviet people do not want to leave their homes, even those who in 1991, when the USSR collapsed, were from 10 to 0 years old. Let's look at phenomena whose roots lie in Soviet realities, but are still popular with us.
1. Carpets on the floor
Carpets on the floor can still be found even in renovated apartments, where beautiful modern laminate, linoleum or parquet are laid. But in Soviet times, carpets were most often laid on the floor in order to brighten up the imperfections of the old painted wooden plank floor. Scientists have proven long ago that safe floor carpets simply do not exist. Carpets are a fertile place for germs, dust, dirt and small textile mites. Carpets pose a threat to the development of allergies and asthma for people, endless infection with small ear mites in pets.
2. Considered very healthy soup with meat and pasta / potatoes
In the world of haute cuisine and chef battles, there is no such thing as soup that contains meat, potatoes, vegetables and pasta. The fashion for such a soup spread virally in the USSR after the Second World War, when there were very few men and each was worth its weight in gold. After the war, the former soldiers drank a lot to suppress PTSD. And the soup helped men quickly get satiated, not fall from the alcohol they had drunk and be in the slightest ability to reproduce offspring. This soup leads to the development of gastritis and stomach ulcers. Acceptable options for soups in the world of haute cuisine: puree soup (potato, mushroom, vegetable), only meat broth, seafood soup, vegetable soup.
3. Pink clothes for girls and blue clothes for boys
In post-Soviet countries, it is generally accepted that little girls need to be dressed up in pink and carried in a pink stroller, and boys, accordingly, get everything blue or blue. In the West, such things have long been ignored. Why not dress your kids in completely neutral colors, namely... to any others. Let the kids wear white, black, green, yellow - whatever! After all, we forget that children begin to believe that they are obliged to wear certain colors, and the personality of any person is formed only up to five years. The imposition of the type of clothing leads to childhood traumas, which, as a rule, come back to haunt in the form of serious psychological complexes upon reaching adolescence and subsequently, in adulthood.

4. Tablecloths and oilcloths on tables
Tablecloths for tables had two paths of development: the etiquette of the aristocracy of past centuries and... as in point 1 of this material, masking the imperfections of an old table, which served a hundred years. Let's face it. How many chances does an uncovered table have that food and red wine leftovers on it can simply be washed off? 99 percent. And how many chances does a tablecloth have? 40 percent, and only if it is immediately disconnected from the table and thrown into the wash with modern means. Play some of your favorite modern films from Europe or Hollywood and scan them for tablecloths. Oops, you just won't see them!

An important detail. Such a cheap version of the tablecloth, born in the USSR, like oilcloth for tables, is very toxic: it is bad smells new, and after being in use for weeks and months, absorbs kitchen cooking smells faster than sponge. It is worth considering.
A little more nostalgia for SSR on Novate. Ru there is in this material.
