In any film, attentive viewers will find dozens of inconsistencies. However, modern paintings about the Second World War are leading in this regard. If you do not mention the fact that modern tanks are fighting in battles, and details from another era are flashing in the frame every now and then, most of all "goes" to military uniforms. About which films and directors were most guilty in this matter, read the article Novate.ru.

In the 90s of the last century, when videotapes with foreign films began to be massively imported to us, people openly laughed at American directors, so ineptly they shot films about "our" war. It was in the order of things for them to dress up soldiers in clown uniforms and hang ridiculous orders and medals on them. But they can be understood. Foreign filmmakers saw no reason to spend money on a consultant and go into details of the form of people fighting in another country. The most important thing for them was the storyline and the acting.

But the Russians, who followed the same path as the Americans, cannot be justified. They make films about their army for their compatriots, therefore they must understand that people, who understand the ranks, awards and how a military uniform should look will immediately notice rude errors. Trying to save money on consultants or inviting "fake" specialists for cooperation, the creators of paintings sign a sentence to themselves, provoking the appearance of a large number of negative reviews in their own direction and in the direction the movie itself.

Moreover, this problem mainly arises among modern directors. Films filmed during the Soviet era were much more competent and responsible approach to this issue. An additional confirmation of this is the example below.

In the 70s of the last century, the series "The Investigation is Lead by Knowledge" was very popular, in which the main characters represented by the investigator Znamensky, Criminal Investigation Officer Tomomin and forensic expert Kibrit were investigating the most confusing cases. If you look closely at their form, you can understand that it is ideal in every sense - on the right there are signs of graduation from educational institutions, on the left - order bars. As for the shoulder straps and buttonholes, they are also sewn correctly, so there is nothing to complain about. This suggests that the director Vyacheslav Sorokin either himself was well versed in these issues, or invited a military consultant to the set, who was able to point out mistakes and helped fix them.

And here are footage from the modern TV series "The Dead Sea" and "The Fortune Teller", filmed in 2019. Despite the fact that the first film was directed by Roman Prygunov, and the second by Ilya Kazankov, they made the same mistakes when dressing up their heroes in uniform.

In the film "Dead Lake" there is not a single medal on the chest of the head of the Changadan Department of Internal Affairs Mikhail Ivanovich Ganich, whose role was played by Alexander Robak. Agree, it looks strange that a person who received the rank of lieutenant colonel did not earn a single medal. In addition, he has no badges on his jacket. And this means only one thing: Mikhail Ivanovich did not graduate from a higher educational institution. Or he simply considered it unnecessary to wear insignia.

As for Mikhail Ignatievich Bakhtin, police colonel and chief of the Internal Affairs Directorate from the series "The Fortune Teller", he has a lot of medals and orders. However, there is one caveat: the strips on the tunic should be on the left, and the badges on the right. And in the film it's the opposite. With such a blunder, actor Vasily Bochkarev walks throughout all 16 episodes and does not even know about it.

Another example, but already connected directly with the army. In 1977, the film "In the Zone of Special Attention" directed by Andrei Malyukov was released. The plot is based on the teachings of Soviet paratroopers. Take a close look at the uniforms of Major Moroshkin, played by Anatoly Kuznetsov, and Captain Zuev, played by Alexander Pyatkov. Shoulder straps, straps, buttonholes, cap - everything is in place and fully corresponds to the declared time. However, even here there was a "blunder": neither one nor the second had signs of graduation from a higher educational institution. A mistake, comrade Malyukov.

However, this nuance is nothing compared to the mistakes made by Alexander Kott, the director of the series "The Other Side of the Moon", which was released in screens in 2012. The action of the film takes place in the same period as in the film In the Zone of Special Attention. That is, the shape must be the same. However, in reality, this is not at all the case. There is not a single decoration on the uniform of a colonel, a unit commander who has probably served in the army for at least 25 years. Although during this time he should be awarded at least 5-6 medals, and maybe orders, because the pilots at that time were performing combat missions. And if so, then the jacket should have at least 5-6 planks. As for the form itself, there are also flaws - the officer's cap on the hero of the film, with a "gold" strap, and the ensign's buttonholes - without this detail.
