Many modern mothers and fathers complain that in today's kindergartens their children are fed very badly. And it's primarily not about the size of the portions, but about their quality. Moreover, those who were born in the USSR have something to compare with. The taste of food from school and kindergarten canteens of those times is unforgettable for most people. That is why today it is worth remembering a few dishes from the kindergarten, from which even adults are delighted.
1. Casserole
Has anyone ever managed to repeat that casserole at home? Probably not. It is almost impossible to do this (for some unknown reason), despite the fact that the Internet is literally littered with various recipes for "a real Soviet casserole." Surprisingly, they are all different from each other. Perhaps the main culprit for the famous taste is the industrial oven.
2. Puree
Do you remember that puree? Its pitiful likeness is still being prepared in canteens. The secret of Soviet potato gruel is the use of butter and water. Attempts to remember the taste of the famous dish do not cause "bouts of nostalgia" for a happy childhood only in those who, for some reason, did not eat it at all.
3. Cutlets
Juicy on the inside, firm on the outside. The main secret of Soviet canteen cutlets was, of course, the correct breading. As a rule, it was performed from bran. Perhaps, the correct taste was also helped by the fact that in the then cutlets, unlike most modern ones, there really was meat in a representative amount!

4. Omelet
Not the most delicious dish from the school cafeteria, but definitely one of those that everyone remembers one way or another. It is quite difficult to repeat 100% omelet from the dining room. Most likely due to the fact that it was prepared, like a casserole in a large industrial oven. Homemade omelet is always better, but it tastes completely different.

5. Kissel
Most of the children in the kindergarten did not like jelly, but their opinion very often changed after they grew up. Kissel from the canteen can be safely called one of the main symbols of public catering in the Soviet Union. Cheap, angry and (oh, horror) really useful.
