How to repair a loop that “pulls out” every now and then: a non-standard approach

Pulling loops out of wood or chipboard is a vital, periodic and widespread phenomenon. All this should already be enough to regularly replenish the arsenal of knowledge in the field of repairing breakdowns of this kind. Today we will focus on one non-standard, but very effective way of dealing with constantly breaking loops.

At the heart of the loop breakout problem is the material in which they are installed. It doesn't matter what it is: a wooden beam or a wood-shaving material. Most often, the hinges are pulled out either with a piece of material, or they fall out on their own due to significantly increased bolt holes. In the first case, you have to restore the chipboard. In this case, the material either changes completely to a new one, or is sealed with a paste of glue and wood processing. The same method can be used to repair "ragged" bolt holes, but you can approach the problem from the other side.

Each owner, as a temporary measure, at least once in his life tried to lay pegs or matches with the hardware. This method does not always work well, and most importantly, it does not guarantee a long-term positive effect. But who said that for "restoration" it is necessary to use wood? A soft wire is much better suited to "treat" a problem. This is done in two ways.

First

The wire is folded in half (sometimes three times, depending on the size of the hole and the thickness of the wire), after which it is inserted into the place where the hardware is twisted. A screw is then inserted, after which it is brought almost to the very end with a screwdriver or screwdriver. When this is done, using a suitable tool, we remove the fragment of the wire twist that remains sticking out from the outside and only after that we bring the screw to the stop. This method is recommended to use to strengthen the fixation of any holes.

To implement the second method, you need not just a wire, but a piece of stranded wire, which roughly corresponds in diameter to the diameter of the hole for the hardware. We insert a wire into it, after which we screw the screw directly into it. The result is a very reliable fastening that will significantly extend the life of the problem door. It is recommended to use this method when the bolts do not hold in the holes at all.
