A car consists of a huge number of parts that are interconnected. It follows from this that the reliability and durability of the entire machine depends on timely maintenance and repairs. What to change and at what runs - read on.
1. Changing the engine oil
Changing the engine oil is one of the basic procedures in carrying out regular vehicle maintenance. The frequency of its replacement is highly dependent on the operating conditions and the condition of the engine. If the car is in good technical condition, its mileage is less than 150,000 km, and the conditions for its use cannot be called difficult - in this case, the oil change interval should be equal to that specified in the operating manual auto.
As a rule, for modern cars, manufacturers set an interval of 15,000 km.
If the mileage of the car is more than 150,000, the oil level should be checked more often with a dipstick, and the replacement interval should be reduced to 10,000 km. And if the car is no longer young and is operated in difficult conditions, it is worth changing the oil every 6-8 thousand km.
2. Changing transmission oil
Changing the oil in the gearbox is a much rarer procedure than changing it in the engine. In some cars, the manufacturer even indicates that oil is filled there for the entire service life. But even in this case, it will not be superfluous to replace it. On average, an oil change in the box should be carried out every 100,000 km.
3. Air filter
It is recommended to change the air filter every 35 - 40 thousand kilometers when operating a car in the city and on the highway. If the car is often driven on country roads with increased dustiness of the air, the replacement interval should be reduced to 20,000 km.
Note: Many drivers neglect the importance of the air filter. But in vain, because a dirty filter causes a drop in engine power and throttle response, as well as an increase in fuel consumption, which is not a decent 10-15%.
4. Replacing the brake fluid
It makes sense to change the brake fluid only if it has lost its properties. To check this, automotive stores sell special test strips that change color depending on the condition of the brake fluid. Such a check should be carried out at 80 - 100 thousand kilometers or in the second year of car operation.
5. Power steering fluid
The power steering fluid must be changed according to the manufacturer's recommendation, but at least every 100,000 km or every 2 years.

6. Spark plug
It is worth checking the condition of the spark plugs after 60 - 70 thousand kilometers. If during this check they are normal, then the next check should be done already at 100,000.
7. Timing belt
Timely replacement of the timing belt is an extremely important procedure. After all, if the worn out belt is not replaced, it can break off, which with a high degree of probability will lead to catastrophic engine damage, requiring its overhaul.
8. Shock absorbers
The most loaded part of a car on our roads is by far the suspension, in particular the shock absorber struts. In such conditions, they can become unusable after 80 - 100 thousand kilometers. If the shock absorbers of the car are worn out, this is immediately noticeable. We recommend diagnosing them at 100 thousand kilometers.
