Today you will not surprise anyone with two-tariff meters, especially since their installation is encouraged in every way by the state. After re-signing the contract with the local power supply organization, any user can install a device in his apartment that accounts for electricity at day and night rates. It is believed that this method of accounting for electricity consumption allows you to save on expenses for the corresponding item of the family budget. But is it really so?
Night, day and regular rates: what is the difference between them
The main difference between these three indicators is the amount of payment for the consumed electricity at different times of the day.
Note: In different regions of the country "own" tariff is set for each of the listed categories.
According to Energosbyt, such an accounting organization will allow:
- equalize the load on local transformer substations overloaded during peak hours;
- extend the service life of the operated electrical equipment;
- save every family through the rational organization of energy consumption.
It is difficult to disagree with the first two points that are beneficial to government structures. But with the third statement, many do not quite agree.
An example of "saving"
To confirm the trick hidden in the system of billing according to the "day-night" scheme, we present the calculations of a user who decided to switch to an electronic multi-rate meter. Not to mention its high cost (on average, the price of such a product is 2-2.5 times higher than that of a conventional device), after a thorough analysis, he discovered such facts.
The electricity prices at the user's place of residence are as follows: the daily rate is 5.15, and the night rate is 2.77. If you pay bills without taking into account tariffication, then this figure is 4.61.
Then he gives the calculation of the cost of payment for the month:
- Day: 80 kW x 5.15 = 412 rubles.
- Night: 15 kW x 2.77 = 41.55 rubles.
- Total for the month comes out 453.55 rubles.
Without taking into account the division into tariffs, it turns out: 95 kW x 4.61 = 437.95 rubles.
It turns out that when using a two-tariff meter, the apartment owner paid 15.6 rubles for the electricity consumed during the month. more. On the other hand, if you actively use electrical appliances at night, then, no doubt, you can save money. But how many people are willing to wash, iron and cook food in the oven at night? Namely, the washing machine, iron and electric oven consume most of the energy consumed.
When a 2-rate meter is beneficial
Installing a two-rate meter is beneficial in the following situations:
- if the family lives in a private house with electric heating and underfloor heating, in particular;
- when the hostess has a habit or ability to wash, iron and cook food at night;
- with the general propensity of the owners to a nocturnal lifestyle.
The latter option suits those who are popularly dubbed "owls". Or those who work night and day shifts, or retirees earning at home. Anyone who fits these definitions will undoubtedly benefit from a double tariff.
