Developed electrical wiring is required on modern real estate objects. Power supply of various devices and devices is possible according to permanent and temporary schemes. In the latter case, various electrical outlets are used for this, to which the plugs of the power cord of the powered equipment are connected.

The actual electrical socket as an installation component consists of two main parts: the visible socket module, and the so-called. a box that with hidden wiring, it is located completely in the wall, serves as a mounting base for the module and is used to enter the power cable.

Varieties according to the number of seats for socket modules

Socket boxes are generally divided into individual and group ones.

The individual one is designed for one module, in most cases it has a round shape and looks like a shallow cup. Components that are square in plan have also become widespread.

Group (otherwise multi-station) socket boxes, Figure 1 can serve up to four modules at the same time. Outwardly, they resemble a shallow vessel.

Separately, we point out that the design of some individual devices provides for the possibility of docking to form a group, depending on the required number of installed modules.

In the side parts of the housing, cable entries and other necessary mounting components are made.

Non-combustible wall structures

In situations where the wall or partition is made of non-combustible materials, plastic sockets, which are more convenient to use, are mainly used.

Flush mounts for solid walls do not contain external fasteners and are fixed at the regular workplace with plaster or another suitable mortar, Figure 2. Given this feature, when forming a group of outlets in solid walls, it is advisable to use multi-post structures.

On the other hand, socket boxes for plasterboard walls cannot be fixed in working position with mortars and therefore are supplied with external fasteners, Figure 3. Two main options are possible here: ordinary self-tapping screws screwed into the corresponding holes, as well as screws that, when screwed in, ensure the extension of the side rippling petals.

Socket boxes for wooden walls

When forming hidden wiring in wooden walls, metal sockets are usually installed. They not only exclude direct contact of electrical circuits with wood, but also protect them from nails and other sharp objects. Basically, such products are designed for one module and have a round shape. The latter is determined by the simplicity of forming the mounting hole using a suitable drill.

Recently, the installation of multi-point outlets in wooden walls has begun to gain popularity. An example is shown in Figure 4. This type of installation requires an additional adapter adapter.

Fastening of socket outlets to wooden walls is carried out with screws or foam.
