White floor
White horizontal surfaces, such as the floor and kitchen countertop, are not the best solution in the interior. Speech is white and shades close to this color.
On such planes, all kinds of crumbs, dust particles, villi, hair and so on will be clearly visible. Even frequent cleaning will not save you from this. Therefore, if you choose the appropriate materials wisely, be prepared for the fact that you will have to clean up almost daily.
White kitchen sink
It's about the same story with the white sink in the kitchen. It will look beautiful in the first month, but in the future it will require constant care.
Dirt from cooking or pouring out coffee leftovers will eat into more and more over time, as the sink is the hottest spot in the kitchen. They will be especially noticeable on a white background. Therefore, such sinks quickly lose their presentation, even with careful care.
Polished dark surfaces
Dark surfaces are about as easily soiled as white ones. Against a dark background, all the same specks of dust, villi, etc., when light is refracted, acquire a lighter appearance and become just as noticeable.
Therefore, if you do not have time for frequent cleaning, choose a floor with a medium tone. When the dark surfaces are also polished, the situation is further aggravated. This threatens with permanent stains with prints, which will have to be strictly avoided with house slippers.
Cork or sealant at the junction of different coatings
Now more and more often it is advised to abandon the sills at the joints of parquet laminate and tiles. Instead, it is proposed to use cork expansion joints and sealant. However, such content is likely to require periodic updates.
Often, cork or sealants sag over time, darken ugly and even crumble. Therefore, this recommendation is very controversial. A neat, T-shaped sill makes life easier. With him, you don't have to patch up the joint from time to time and worry about his dilapidated appearance.
Small tiles on the floor
Small-format tiles are fraught with certain inconveniences. It is important to consider that almost all tiles have a slight curvature. And the more seams, the stronger the set of errors. Outwardly, this may be almost imperceptible, however, placing a chair on such a surface, you can clearly feel the differences in some areas.
Also, uneven seams can be felt, for example, when cleaning, when a mop will cling to certain corners.
Freestanding bathtub
A freestanding bathtub - classic, on legs, oval or cubic - will look very impressive in a large room. However, as practice shows, this is not the most practical solution.
Firstly, such a bath will not have sides where it would be convenient to place shampoo, gel and other products. This problem can be solved by providing a special table or shelf. Secondly, after using it, water will remain around the bathtub, which threatens mold. This threat can be localized using a special ladder or underfloor heating, but, of course, at the cost of additional investment and effort.
