Designers Svetlana and Ivan Melnikovs solved a difficult task - to fit everything you need into a cramped one-room apartment with a modest budget, but not at the expense of beauty.

To do this, they made a redevelopment: they removed the wall separating the room from the rest of the apartment. In accordance with the wishes of the customers, a separate small room was allocated for the bedroom.

The design was inspired by the Baltic Sea coast. Shades for the interior were selected mainly warm - from sandy to amber. Cool tones of water and sky are also woven into the design. At the same time, there is a touch of history in it.

  • total area: 33 m²
  • Number of rooms: 1
  • A place: St. Petersburg
  • Who lives here: married couple
  • Budget: 1 million rubles for everything
  • Designers: Ivan and Svetlana Melnikov

Living room

After redevelopment, the far part of the apartment turned into a small bedroom, and the rest of the only room, along with a part of the corridor, was occupied by a mini-living room.

In the resulting room, a recreation area was equipped and even a place was taken for a small office. Wooden shelves were hung there to store part of the family library.

Living room after renovation

One of the walls, which previously belonged to the corridor, was covered with Swedish wallpaper with an unobtrusive plant print. The calm ornament does not break up the overall composition, but forms an integral picture, while avoiding monotony.

Natural elements are widely used in decor: in the living room, as in other rooms, there is an abundance of plants. The sky-sea component is formed by curtains and some pieces of furniture.

Many historical details of the 60s have found their place in the interior. In particular, the Soviet dressing table - it was converted into a spectacular chest of drawers. On the walls you can see the graphics of the artists of that period.

Bedroom

The bedroom continues the laconic and calm design of the living room. They also used wallpaper with floral patterns and Soviet graphics.

The design also softly meets "land" (curtains, walls) and "sea" (shelves, vase).

Kitchen

A mini-dining area was allocated in the kitchen. The wide window lets in a lot of light and supports the natural theme. The lamp above the table hovers like a cloud.

The amber-gold mosaic made up the apron and served as a bright accent. Also, the calm interior is diluted with saturated colors of ceramics.

Bathroom

The decoration of the bathroom supports the overall mood of the apartment. The combination of sandy and marine shades gives rise to the association of a wave running ashore.
