How to choose a kitchen that will be relevant right now, but will not become obsolete over the years

  • Dec 15, 2020

Now that the principles of minimalism have spread, it is not at all difficult to do this. You can easily get a kitchen that will be in trend today, but at the same time will not lose its relevance tomorrow.

Designer Pavel Sobolev suggested 6 solutions to help you achieve the desired result.

6. Minimalism

Minimalism at all levels - in decoration, design and content. Functionality should come to the fore, and then your kitchen will not seem like a relic of the past even years later.

Lightness and practicality are not only convenient, but also always relevant.
Choose a laconic option, avoid bright ornaments and an abundance of all kinds of accessories that change in trends almost every season.

5. Eco-friendly design

Currently, this is a confident trend. But this is more than just a trend in fashion, it is a principle of life that will always be evaluated positively.

Try to give preference to natural materials, including wood - as one of the most versatile. Use calm natural colors such as shades of green or sky blue.

Live plants and linen textiles are well suited as accessories.

4. Matt surfaces

The soiling of facades depends not so much on color as on texture. Traces will always remain on the glossy surface, and it will be much easier to care for the matte surface.

3. Laconic facades

Let no detail in the kitchen draw unnecessary attention. For example, the handles can be replaced with a hidden push-open system. So, dirt will not additionally accumulate, and the facades will become an integral picture.

With extremely simple surfaces, it will be easier to achieve the unity of the interior.

2. Light colors

White, associated with purity and simplicity in a good way, is the key color of minimalism. But of course other calm neutral tones can be used.

Universal shades will not tire, will not lose their relevance, and it will be easy to pick up any accessories and equipment for them.

If you want color, you can use it on easily replaceable accessories - textiles, for example.

1. Thin countertop

A thick, monumental countertop is not always stronger. Rather, it is a choice of the subconscious.

Lighter, thinner options made from the right material will turn out to be equally reliable and at the same time will look more neat and almost weightless.

You can find suitable models from natural and artificial stone, laminate, ceramic, stainless steel, tempered glass
