Designer Alena Bolshakova suggested playing with space, shape and color when building an interior. She gave some tips to help you get around popular stereotypes and turn on your fantasy.

5. Don't use the same thing

Try to stop using the same items. For example, two mirrors side by side do not have to be the same shape or size. The chairs at the dining table may not be the same. In addition, to chairs from one set, you can take and add one almost out of the ordinary.

4. Do not be intimidated by the irony in the interior

Incorporate an interesting catchy piece of furniture into a discreet interior, which in its form and content may not belong to the general style. And vice versa - add something completely minimalistic to a brighter interior.

Don't be afraid of sizes! For example, you can substitute a wooden bench in the interior in the spirit of minimalist luxury.

3. Divide walls with color

Can be horizontally or vertically. Color can start anywhere on one wall and end anywhere on another wall. That is, the walls are partially painted in different colors.

This technique will help when zoning space. The shade used on the wall can also be transferred to the furniture, as if incorporating it into your play. Doors and skirting boards can also be involved. In addition, the color from the wall can "roll" to the floor or "climb" to the ceiling.

2. Bathroom tiles are not an axiom

Try to abandon the usual porcelain stoneware or tiles when decorating your bathroom. There are tons of other materials you can use now. For example, micro concrete, paint, wood panels, wallpaper. They do not need to be afraid - they are all moisture resistant.

1. Complete yourself, do not take ready-made

Try to make furniture yourself, from scrap materials. For example, a table, a shelf, and so on. Or you can purchase an interesting hand-made product. It's great if it is made from recycled materials.

An example with a table: on the one hand, you can lean the tabletop on the windowsill, and on the other hand, support it with an unusual support. The bottom line is that the item should be assembled from different components, and not purchased completely ready-made.
