1. From cement mortar

When it comes to fences made of cement mortar, most summer residents imagine thick, angular gray structures. However, this is not always the case. Concrete can be used to make attractive fences of all shapes, sizes and colors. The problem of excessive wall thickness is solved with the help of reinforcement. The sturdy metal mesh allows for a strong yet thin structure. The concrete can be sanded to keep the surface smooth. This is done using a drill with a special attachment.

These fences are strong enough to support the weight of damp, compacted soil. During work, you can always put a bucket on them, lean on or sit down. The massive construction will be an excellent barrier for weeds and some pests.

2. From shingles

Low neat red tile fences will make the flower garden cozy and homely warm. To create, you will need a decent amount of material, so in order to save a budget, it is best to purchase substandard. So that the damaged parts are not visible, they are simply buried in the ground. There are different types of tiles on sale, so the cost of one element can vary several times.

Tile fences are not afraid of the scorching sun and severe frosts. They retain their decorative appearance for a long time even in low places with stagnant water. Do not have an expiration date. If necessary, they are easily disassembled and transferred to a new place.

3. From the croaker

Not the most durable, but an affordable and practical option will be croaker fences. To make the fences look neat, you need to choose a material of the same width, thickness and similar texture. It is advisable that the bark of the tree is not damaged, otherwise it will have to be completely ripped off. It will not be easy to acquire such material, so if you have a tool, you can make the slabs yourself.

In order for the wood to serve for a good ten years, it must be impregnated with a special solution against decay and insects. Whether or not to leave the bark is a personal matter, however, it must be borne in mind that its presence can lead to the appearance of grinder beetle larvae.

4. From a thick log

For a small flower bed, you can make an original fence from a large diameter log. To do this, it is enough to make a cut of the desired height, drill a through hole at a distance of 5-7 cm. from the edge and cut out the core with a jigsaw. If the necessary tool is not at hand, all unnecessary can be cut out with an ax. However, this must be done carefully so as not to split the future fence.

Like any other wooden structure, such a fence should be thoroughly impregnated with a solution from decay.

5. From profiled sheet

Fences from a profiled sheet rolled into low cylinders can be bought at a hardware store, or you can make it yourself. In the first case, you purchase a ready-made fence along with an elastic band that covers the sharp edges. In the second case, you will have to get a sheet and bend it around the barrel. This is not as easy as it might seem at first glance. The edges of the sheet are fastened with ordinary rivets.
