Recently, I purchased the cheapest welding mask with an automatic light filter for only "half a ruble" for my own needs in the "Traffic Light" m-not. I disassembled it and found out if it was of high quality. There is an article about this on the channel. Link at the end of the article. The seller in the store told me that the warranty for this equipment is only two weeks, although the passport says that this period lasts for a year. I will use the mask in the summer, how can I check it? I called my brother welder and he told how to do it.
In the first case, we need a lighter with "silicon" which gives a spark at aperture equal to the welding arc. We put on the mask on the head and strike with a cream. The glass should darken. (video at the end)
Another interesting way to check is the use of an IR remote control from any household appliances. Their radiation is identified by automation as dangerous and the glass will darken.
I was not too lazy and filmed an interesting process of the light filter in the welding mask. We look:
As it turned out, the mask works properly and in the summer I can cook in it!
